Im from Canada, but would like to seek your opinions here 🙂

Seriously considering between 2005 Acura TL or 2005 MB C240X4matic

Acura

or

Mercedes

Basically getting it close to the same price on either cars; both are from dealerships. A little more mileage from the Acura, but they will throw in additional powertrain warranty for 160,000

Which would be the better choice?? Basically its for a small family.

Thanks!

My personal choice would be TL. Besidesemblem (Acura vs. MB), I don't see anything C240 is better than TL. TL performs better, better known reliability, better build quality (objective up to here), and better looking inside and outside (subjective for this one, obvious).

If I were to get C class, it'd only be 2008+. Older gen looks too outdated.

The Merc is RWD and of course comes with a "high roller" badge.

The Acura will most certainly be better put together and be more reliable - but, at the end of the day it's a FWD, V6 Honda and if you want a FWD, V6 Honda buy a Honda - for considerably less money.

Between those choices, the TL. It's bigger, higher mpg, quicker and overal imo nicer. Now if it was a C230 Kompressor model with say he sport package... that would be a more difficult decision.

The Merc, I love the TL, considered one at some point, but I am just sick of FWD... This applies especially if you like to drive a car in a sporty fashion like I do, RWD/AWD would be the way to go. If you don't care about any of this talk, go with the TL.

Also If I were looking at a C-class, I would get one with a decent V6 and pair it with a 6-speed manual transmission, good mileage and great fun.

TL by far. I love mine, I think it beats the MB in every way. MB isn't even a status thing anymore and all the younger professionals go for BMWs if they want german engineering.

Mine the same color WDP

outside

inside

I'd get the manual though. And if that price is US dollars it might on the high side.

these are what the 05 lease ones are going for at auctions in the us

4matic=AWD system

The Acura probably comes with more standard for the money though. The C class is also a tad on the small side, which may be an issue as a family car.

TL is much nicer than the accord of its time. alot of extra fun features and gadgets, but the accord is very solid and well put together. the v6 on the TL is more "performance" tuned and more fuel economy tuned for the accord

When I see mb, I do not think high roller, I think old geezer...

it depends which MB it is imo. it can be one or the other, or in alot of cases, both

Being in Canada I would go for the 4wd 2005 MB C240X4matic but would try to get some kind of extended warranty too.

Yup, you're correct. Standard C class models are RWD though.
