My use will be Internet + ( Word and Excel) + watch Video and listen music and maybe some good games.

1 - Is I5-3450 a good processor for my use ?

2 - I am hesitating between choose SSD drive or a best graphic card. I don't like to hear hard drive noise.

Are there some good silent hard drives 7200 rpm ?

3 - Is the power supply better in the second choice than the Hp model ?

4 Is the Nine Hundred 2 V3 with 4 fans installed better than a Hp case ?

5 - Do you know Microbytes in the montreal area province of Quebec ?

Thank-you for your help

Better than mine. :)

If you don't like HD noise, buy an SSD. No moving parts. Any HD, you can hear. Some are louder than others.

3 - Is the power supply better in the second choice than the Hp model ?

It's bigger, more overhead if you install fancy video card or something.

4 Is the Nine Hundred 2 V3 with 4 fans installed better than a Hp case ?

It'll keep your equipment cooler. It's probably louder. HP and Dell go to some trouble to make their machines quiet, but they trade off for hotter running, non-overclockable computers.

Don't live anywhere near there, just heard of them from friends. Nothing good or bad. Most of my canadian internet friends were happy when Newegg started shipping up there.

I've been buying more and more stuff from Amazon. Easier to find deals on used equipment without all the eBay bullshit.

Could you answer all the questions please?

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

*

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

8. What resolution will you be using?

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.

*

X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
1. Internet + ( Word and Excel) + watch Video and listen music and maybe some good games (I'm interpreting that as "light gaming")
2. ???
3. ???. Please link to the websites you're using.
4. -
5. Probably not since you want prebuilt. Have you considered building it yourself from parts?
*
7. Default speeds
8. ???
9. ???

$ 1000 to 1200 $ before taxes is my principal.

I live in Canada and i will buy in a store.

I like Hp product.

I like Intel Product

I like Seagate product

I will use my computer at the regular speed and not overclocking.

All new components in a new case and not use old components of my actually computer.

The resolution will be use is the max as possible that my graphic card can do.

Full HD is a good resolution.

I don't want build my computer. I want a computer assembled by specialists.

Need to buy Windows 7 x64.

do i forget some answers ?

OK now you've got it all covered. One thing I forgot to ask - do you own a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse already or will you need to include those in the budget?

It will inevitably cost some extra to have someone build the PC for you or to buy a prebuilt, compared to a custom rig with the same components. I'd say a pre-built or pre-assembled $1000 PC is roughly equivalent to an $800-900 DIY build.

Graphics cards are capable of much better than 1080, if that's what you're referring to by "full HD".
Lots of monitors are capable of better than "1080".

1080 is more or less HD for TVs, not PC monitors.

What are you talking about Blain? 1080p is HD for PC monitors just as it is for TV's. HD doesn't mean just any high resolution, it means strictly 1920x1080 or 1280x720, the former being Full HD.

In my book, 1920x1200, 2560x1440 and 2560x1600 are HD for PCs.
The GPU he's looking at is capable of 2560x1600.

I have a LG 17'' monitor 4:3 bought in 2006. Can i keep this Monitor ?

Sometime, i see ''light is flashing'' in some area of my monitor ? Is it a big problem ? Do you understand this problem ? screen is flashing in some area

Actually, I have a Hp Pavillion a1220n bought in 2005. This computer is very slow And makes high noise (hard drive spins and high level noise of fans computer).

The description is :

Pentium 4 516

512 mb ram

200 GB hard drive 7,200 rpm.

Graphic card integrated to the processor.

What it's the best lifetime of a computer ?

3 years, 5 years 7 year or more ?

order to me, 4 year and 5 year is the minimum lifetime.

I spend many dollars for a computer. I want a good computer for a good lifetime.

At your budget, definitely not. You can buy a new 23" HD monitor for $150 and build a $950 rig.

A new $1000 rig should easily last 3 years playing new games, 5 years if you really don't mind bad image quality and a bit choppy FPS from time to time. In general use a system can definitely last 7 years unless some of your components crap out by then.

Just to be clear, your monitor would work with a new computer. However, it's small by today's standards, and if you're having trouble with it you may as well replace it as lehtv said.

That's not going to leave enough for the PC itself. Are you trolling Blain?

Last I checked, NCIX will put together any system you want for a flat $50 charge. That is probably your best bet in this situation. Just add this item to your cart along with a complete PC.

Without further ado, here's a list:

i5 3550 $220
GA-B75M-D3H $75
Kingston DDR3 1600 8GB $47
6870 $155 AR
Crucial M4 128GB $125
Hitachi 7K1000.D $90
OCZ ZT 550W $50 AR
Antec Three Hundred Two $60 AR
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit $100
Assembly $50
HP 23" 1080p $155
Logitech Keyboard & Mouse combo $19
Total: $1146

If you wanted to be under $1000, I could see stepping the CPU back to a dual core like the i3 2120 and/or dropping the SSD.
