Choice, Kingwin 424 or Lian Li PC 65 USB?

Trying to decide between these two...know the kingwin is a bit cheaper in construction but it is also upwards of $30 cheaper..and either should be better than my Inwin S500 I have now...thoughts appreciated.

I would get the kingwin because its really nice and is alot cheaper than the lian li. Its really sturdy as well, 2mm aluminum! I have heard alot of good things about it

Well, I have the LL so I could be biased but the Kingwin looks nice as well. I just noticed a couple of differences. 1) the LL has an extra fan out the top and 2) the LL has a removable HDD tray. The LL was very easy to use but they both look good.

I own both a Kingwin 424 and a different model of the Lian Li.

No hesitation in recommending the Kingwin and saving yourself $30. Both of these manufacturers make terrific cases.

thanks,

the only turnoffs with the Kingwin are the non removable hard drive bays and supposed sleeve bearing fans...but for $30 I can add my own better fans...looks like Kingwin it is, too bad they don't have the silver anywhere...thanks all

Holy Crap RickN,
. That is the Beantech version of the SAME case for ONLY $60.!!! Damn... Hop all over that sucker, OP! About all I can tell it lacks from the KW is the fan controller.

ZZF had silver yesterday but only the non-window one.

is this the same case?? the shipping is like $20 bucks and there is no side window but it would still be cheaper.

The Skyhawk case may be a great value but it is definitely NOT the *same* case as the Kingwin 424. There are a number of differences, both inside and out, compared to the Kingwin.

Also, the Kingwin 424 is spec'd as "High quality aluminum-mg alloy case with 2.00mm aluminum thickness" while the SkyHawk is described as "High Quality 1.2mm Thick All Aluminum Alloy Frame, Body, Front & Side Panels".

I never said the skyhawk was a kingwin. obviously the kingwin has thicker aluminum and it costs more as it should. I just threw in the skyhawk because it is a DECENT alternative to higher-priced Lian-li.

Hey boz,
. That's the trouble with using "this" instead of what you actually mean since rickn linked TWO cases. The Victor/Beantech IS the same case as the Kingwin - Just lacks the fan controller as far as I can tell.
. SVC used to sell the Beantech Igloo version of the case and it is identical to the Kingwin.
Now apparently they are putting the Victor name on it but the computergate listing still calls it the Beantech igloo. And they are hardly any less well-made than Lian Li.

id say lian li cause if you can have 1.2mm al thats as sturdy at 2.0mm then you want that. 30 dollars isnt alot when it comes to a case that will last you in future upgrades

the only really thin pieces on the skyhawk is the side panels. the front bezel is very thick aluminum. so unless you plan on sitting on your case or jumping up and down on it, i'd imagine it will last many years, or if you plan on modding the kingwin would be better as the thicker metal is less like to become misshapen. But, the OP wanted a kingwin, and the link I posted to computergate is a Kingwin. My other link was just an alternative in case he got $sticker$ shocked

Thanks all,

And sorry Zep for not being more specific...

ended up just getting the Lian Li 7-A as I decided I didn't want to deal with a black case and plexi that supposedly scratches pretty bad and also cable management associated with a windowed system, the Victor case looked nice but couldn't come to terms with 20+ for shipping 🙂
