Chocolate lovers everywhere have reasons to be nervous about the political turmoil in Ivory Coast. The West African nation produces nearly 40% of the world's raw cocoa.

And without cocoa, of course, there would be no chocolate.

Already the wholesale price of this crucial raw ingredient in one of the planet's favourite foods has doubled in the last four years.

And that was before the single largest producer of the commodity began its recent slide towards conflict.

Just a heads up for chocolate lovers. Time to stock up.

We need to declare war on the Ivory Coast.

QUICK!!

Someone leak a memo indicating Osama Bin Laden is hiding in the Ivory Coast.

Hmm. I don't know if I eat much chocolate to care anyway. I eat lots of sweets, but not chocolaty stuff. It makes me kinda sick. (Especially so for the rich stuff)

Shit.

And here I am, a fan of the dark chocolate. I'm talking it's better with the more bitter flavor, the high-percentage cacao content only, say thank ya.
Current favorite: Lindt 70%.
I do like 80% too, and I love cacao-flavored beer. Not chocolate flavored, but brewed with cacao nibs; Dogfish Head Theobroma, that brew is win.

Actually need to buy me some roasted cacao nibs and give those a try. Good bean for rich snacking, and can be used in a lot of dishes. Haven't tried them, mind you... that's to happen soon I hope.

Step 1 - go to Ivory Coast, get medieval on their asses
Step 2 - enjoy a nice mocha latte (officers) or beer (enlisted)

WIN!! :awe:
