chocolate candy or fruit flavored candy?

gorcorps

aka Brandon
Say you walk into any convenience store and get to pick anything from the candy isle... what's your preferred choice? Do you prefer something with chocolate like a candy bar, or do you prefer fruit flavors like skittles, starburst, jolly rancher, etc...

Mostly chocolate, but will sometimes get something fruity, or even better, licorice when available.

chocolate. i like twix or crunch bars, but i pretty much only have those 2 or 3 times a year, that stuff is way, way too sweet. ditto for soda, too sweet, i might have one a month

Mostly fruit just because of Swedish Fish, but some chocolate too.

The bags with just the red ones or the variety pack with multiple flavors?

What about raisinettes? Chocolate + fruit

raisins are the bastard child of fruit, and don't even deserve the opportunity to exist.

same with whatever those raisin-style cranberries are called.

if I'm going to eat something that is a certain fruit in origin, I want it to taste like it dammit. I cannot describe the level of disgust I taste in raisins, but I like grapes.

I don't even know any fruit flavored candy. Maybe if I had the good stuff I'd change, but I like really good chocolate. As a kid I didn't know the difference, but having eaten a lot of quality chocolate, I won't mess with the cheap shit. I once bought a container of Hershey's cocoa and returned it to the store because it was horrible compared to gourmet cocoa (I buy Droste, almost exclusively). I like Lindt, which is an economical and widely available brand of reasonably good chocolate, but I often buy others if the quality/price ratio is high enough.

Depends on the candy that I am choosing. If its gummy or hard candy or something.

EDIT: Cool post 4444

Sorry, the word "convenience store" warps any food based question beyond intelligibility.

Indeed. I don't do convenience stores.

The only bags I see are all red. If I find them loose like in the bulk candy section of a supermarket then multiple flavors with a heavy red bias.

A quality dried apricot (some suck) is excellent. I'm not big on raisins either, and usually refuse to eat cookies made with raisins.

Chocolate can get monotonous very quickly. Fruit flavored candy is much better.
Choosing between reeses pieces and fruit flavored candy is a much tougher choice...
