If you want something different but still in the same vein as Toblerone take a look at Milka chocolate bars. I'll never forget the first time I had one when I was in Germany back in '93. It was like tasting chocolate for the first time. So good....anyway here's an Amazon link that I got from a quick search. You might be able to find something different.

When I was trick or treating age I would have rather that the huge kitkat bars than a stoopwaffle or whatever else unknown. When you're that age it's about quantity not quality.

I like Aldi brand chocolate bars like Choceur and Moser Roth. It's cheap and good.
I got these from Aldi...

Their stuff was either cheaper than I remembered, or the prices dropped. I got 20 bars @ $1.49/each. I might pick up five more bars of plain dark as a reserve, but twenty should be enough.

Thanks for the input everyone. There were some good ideas proffered here :^)

I have couple Schogetten at home. The prices haven't dropped. You're just getting old. :) I love European chocolate and one of the reasons I go to Aldi is to buy their various chocolate bars.

Last year I have out 100g Dark Toblerone bars for halloween, and I'd like to do something similar this year. I want to keep the cost ~$2/bar, and I want it to be interesting. Something good that the kids may not have had before, and is decent quality. I might just do the Toblerone again, but wanted to see if there was anything else out there at the stated cost. I look when I think to, but most of the chocolate gets a bit too pricey, or is crap.

These are less than $2 per bar, they taste great and they're healthy because they're whey protein bars. Good for growing kids:

Who gives out whey protein bars? Have you ever seen any kid treat or treating that is short on protein?

That's like shitty Snickers bar but worse. We're talking good chocolate, not dog food.
