Hey guys,

So, you get the point. I recently (two days ago) formatted my drives. A clean, uber clean Windows Installation. Now, each and every single time I reboot, my Windows want to scan my D: drive "because it seems there is something weird"...

So everytime I let it go, he scans, obviously he NEVER find a problem, I boot Windows and I can't defrag my drive because Windows HAS SCHEDULED A BOOT TIME CHECK!

I'm steaming mad now.

Did you get ever had this problem before?

Thanks for any help! :)

Yes.

Boot from the Windows XP CD, go into the Recovery console. Run this:

chkdsk d: /p

(Yes, /p, that's the switch when using Recovery Console before someone comes in here whining about using /f)

Run that a few times until you've seen Windows report twice that there's no problems with the disk.
Reboot, and the problem should be gone.

I had the same problem myself, and it's because the volume's Dirty bit is not being correctly cleared after the disk check. Running chkdsk in the Recovery Console a few times sorted it out for me, and for the other time that I've seen it.

Cool...An answer for the dirty bit problem:)

My answer was to backup the data and reformat the drive.
