Dang it, I seem to have missed all the sales. Is their still a way to get this for cheap somewhere? The GreenManGaming code doesn't work anymore.

I want to try it but am afraid to pay $24.

edit: been watching lets play videos on youtube and lag seems to be a common complaint. Is it really that bad?

I generally play on less than 80 ping servers and I never have an issue. However, I accidentally joined one around 115 last night, and it was unplayable.

Just wait a few days/ a week or two for it to go back on sale. It's on sale every other week from what I've seen so far. At 15$ it's a pretty good buy. Playing on a server over 100 MS as a ranger class is pretty poop, so if you play during odd hours or live somewhere really far out you might have troubles. I didn't notice issues with melee combat until 130+ MS.

I just wanted to say that I'm having a blast with this game. (well, it's more of a love-hate relationship but fun regardless)
From reading the developer forums it appears that an upcoming patch is going to add new content(new maps and weapon types), features and bug fixes. (I'm really interested in the 'uninterruptible duels') It's current running in a beta test before it goes live.

If you haven't tried it yet now's your chance... free to play on Steam through Sunday 1PM Pacific and 50% off ($12.49) again.

That is awesome. Didn't even realize the update will be available so soon. Really look forward to it.

this thread had me very intrigued with this game... really stoked to see this as a free weekend and on sale again.

Yeah it isn't downloading for me either...anyone have luck downloading it for the free weekend? Just refreshes the page when I click the thing that says "Click here to download"

It was clearly just a ploy to get us to the page to see its only $13 and hope we buy it. >_>

on the store page there's a big red banner directly under the add to cart buttons and reviews that says "FREE WEEKEND"

click that

Na apparently some people had to restart steam for it to work...other people were having the issue in the steam forums.

so... i just finished the tutorial. or what i could actually finish. for the class training i talked to the archer first... after that i couldn't talk to anyone else. even tried to start the tutorial over and this time i couldn't talk to ANY of the class trainers.

i can see the appeal of this already as far as the mp is concerned... but... having a broken tutorial leaves a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

It's a typo in the tutorial. Push "i" instead of whatever it's telling you. Yeah it looks bad for the game. There are also some grammar mistakes in the tutorial text if you look carefully.

that essentially brings up my next criticism... the default button bindings are all over the place. scrolling your mouse wheel for an attack? what?

I kind of felt the same say when I first started. Coming from FPS shooters it was kind of strange to use the scroll wheel for an attack.

But after awhile, you get used to it and the default action assigned to the scroll wheel actually makes sense and quite easy to use.

All the decent servers are always full...from my limited play time yesterday I can definitely see the MP appeal when you can get into a good server but definitely not worth the full price.

Ok the combat in this game is crazy. Makes me glad I was raised in the 20th Century. That being said, the combat tires me out. I can go for an hour long run, do 50 push-ups. But if I play this game I want to throw up. LOL!

Just had a couple of fun kills.
two enemies comes charging at me, I take first one by throwing an axe to his throat and chop of the head of the 2nd one 😀

Then did some bezerk with a vanguard with claymore. I charged into a group of enemies just swirling around total chaos. I got 6 kills before I died. Very fun.

I tried it. I was mildly amused in a "This is kinda lame" sort of manner. I guess I'm just used to playing more objective-based games these days, not deathmatch arenas.

Before anyone says, "Well you sucked because you just haven't played enough." I gave it a fair go and held my own right from the get-go. Sure I wasn't hacking off heads like a boss, but I wasn't being slaughtered at every waking moment either. I just didn't find the game that appealing. Maybe with a full LAN of people I actually know and we're all laughing over vent or in the same room or something...
