chipset cooler

i was wondering if you really need a good chipset cooler if you have higher that 100mhz fsb. what is the best chipset cooler?

and it depends on the chipset. i have an i810E and it has no heatsink on it

edit: i see that you have a BX. if it is hot, you can either add a small fan to the heatsink, or replace the stock thermal compound/tape with compound or a new heatsink/fan combo

thermaltake makes a mini "orb" style chipset cooler that has a 3 wire speed sensing fan on it. Fits video cards as well. Looks like it would work great to cool a chipset with.

Couldn't hurt. The problem you're going to run into, is that you may not have sufficient clearance to fasten a better cooler on. I'm thinkin' I should cool my BX chipset, 'cause I'm having trouble hitting FSB's of 140+. I think my best choice is probably the Tennmax Lasagna. Although it's expensive, it's a sweet cooler. And it's damned quiet, too.

On ABIT boards they have a neat little green heatsink on the chipsets, but they are kind of not going to do the job without thermal compound (my mobo had no thermal compound between the chipset and heatsink) I put some arctic silver on there and lowered mobo temps by over 3 degrees
