ChipSet Comparison

I have a question about chipsets. I want to build a system, but I am limited on space, so I will need a Micro Motherboard.

Is there a difference between the different chipsets for AMD 64 systems?

If I was to build a full size system, normal motherboard, I would have the option to buy a motherboard with nVidia nForce chipset, VS a micro system, which would be a SiS 760GX chipset. Is there a performance difference between the 2 chipsets?

I will be using this system for artwork and graphics rendering, so I will need quite a lot of performance.

I will be using a AMD 64 3400+ CPU with 2 GB RAM, hopefully it will be enough for rendering artwork.

Thankx for your help and quick responses...

THANK YOU...

You want more or less of an Oxymoron of an answer. Or perhaps I should say that the question itself is practically in terms of an Oxymoron. The terms micro and performance don't usually belong in the same sentence unless you write this: "When someone wants good performance from a Micro-ATX motherboard, the number of choices becomes quite small". TTBOMK, SiS chipsets haven't been known as high performance chipsets; for that sort of choices on an AMD 64 MB, you want either nVidia or Via. Start your parts search over again.

Hmmm, that is not my question.

Basically, I was asking if the SiS chipset is good enogh VS the NVidia, since I will be using rendering software so I can decide to go with a Micro system or a Full size system.

But thankx for the nice remarks and response. If U cant answer in a nice way, don't answer at all.

Much Unappreciate it...

Robtk3, thank you very much. That is what I needed. I could not find one with all the thing I needed, and a better chipset (I really wanted to use the NVidia chipset). That board is fantastic, micro, AND PCI Express, ouch, that is perfect. Thank You very very much. Only drawback is no Firewire, but that can be solved with a $15 add-on card.

Thank Robtk3, that is great. (and under $100 too). U the man...

Thankx...
