So yeah, I reinstalled my SLK-800 tonight to try to lower temps, but that didn't help much (64 die, 50 socket). Almost had a heart attack though - a small ship on the side of the core when I pulled off the heatsink. I really don't like the darn clip on this heatsink - it seems too tight (e.g. it easily scraps off plastic from the CPU socket on my A7N8X dlx). But, this story has a happy ending - the chip thankfully still works. And, I'm still running at 2180 @ 1.85V. A decent OC for a 2100+. Now to buy some better case/CPU fans. These L1As don't push enough air, and the Sunon on my heatsink has seen better days. Time to give my rheobus a workout - 20 watts/channel allows for 8 tornadoes - not that I'd ever do anything that crazy anyways
