Chipped/Dented a part of my case, what to do?

Damn already chipped a part of the doorhandle on my freshly painted case. What can i do to fix this? The chip isn't way deep but it is deep enough that i can't sand the surrounding areas to level it all off? Should i just fill in the chipped/dented area with primer, let the primer dry, and then repaint?
