What does it mean when someone says "chipped CPU"? Any pics?

I just say this because when I was using rubbing alchohal to clean up my slug and apply my new HSF combo, I noticed a tiny spec of what looked to be mirror-like on the corner of the slug, and a tiny spec of what looked to be mirror-like along the edge of the middle of the slug. It is very small, and obviously since i'm talking to you my CPU is sitll working, are those chips though? They didn't come out, and I think they're in the slug itself, are those manufacturing normalities?

EDIT: Like this MY CPU. This is an oline pic of my CPU, and i'm talking about the snine you see on the top of the slug.

means there is a chip or a scratch on the core, typically applies to Athlon XPs as A64's and P4's both have shells on them

the CPU may or may not be working depending on the severity of the chip

well the only reason I asked is because when I was reading Newegg's RMA policy, it specificly mentions chipped cpus.
