I think a lot of people seem to confuse traditional Mexican food with something that is bursting with flavor.

Sorry, it isn't. Outside of a good mole, you aren't going to find anything truly spectacular in that cuisine; and you certainly aren't going to find spectacular flavor at a good taco truck.

I love good taco trucks, and authentic Mexican food--but people here claiming that Chipotle is bland because: Mexican taco trucks are amazing! ...are absolutely fooling themselves.

And it's pretty much all Gringos making these claims.

As for your only mole has flavor, nonsense. A good Adobada has so much flavor and tastes better than just about anything from any cuisine. Same with a Majado Burrito, and what really makes a Mexican spot, their hot sauce or salsa. Chipotle fails harder there than Floyd Mayweather participating in a spelling bee. The flavor is in the sauces and their shit is one step up from ketchup

It's all Mexicans here., and plenty of them eating in Chipotle. within 8 blocks radius of my house, 2 Chipotles and a great taco truck, nestled between. all of them are packed at most times. Lots of Mexicans at both.

Ain't that the truth. I used to live on the Westside of LA and I'd have to go to East LA or the SFV to get good Mexican. Even worse than Chipotle is Tito's Tacos in Culver City. Not even close to border town or East LA Mexican. The lines for that place are even more puzzling than for Chipotle.

I'm back because I just can't emphasize enough how amazing my Chipotle burrito was yesterday. I can't stop thinking about it. Almost every time I go to Chipotle, it's a life-altering experience.

It takes me about an hour to drive to the closest one in Morrow, GA. I can't wait until the next time my travels bring me in range of a Chipotle. I'll definitely have to make the trek for their 1/26 sofritas promotion where they give you a coupon you can use for anything else on the menu. I have never tried the sofritas before, but I'll pick up the usual fajita chicken burrito at the same time.

More like ~40 minutes there, ~40 minutes back, if you drive +20MPH like everyone else in Atlanta. Add the inevitable 15 minutes to order and 20 minutes to eat/get back on the road and you have a two hour round-trip for Chipotle.

And he didn't say that he went all the way there "just for" Chipotle. I was heading out to pick up a coworker of mine and Ichinisan volunteered to drive us... for Chipotle. Good thing too, because I found a nail in my tire that night.

Olive Garden is less than 1 minute from where I live. I've never eaten there and don't intend to after experiencing the catered food my employer sometimes orders from them.

It has nothing to do with "living in GA." Chipotle is all over the north side of ATL and is finally on the south side too, but not on I-85 South (where Newnan is) for good reasons. My coworker who works 1 minute from where we live in Newnan lives 2 minutes away from Chipotle in Morrow. I have been driving him to work for a couple months and pass it about 8 times a week. The frustrating part is that we work 13 hour shifts and Chipotle is closed when there in the morning and closed when there at night. Atlanta has the furthest average commute distances of all major cities, but it still isn't THAT far (south side to south side, outside the perimeter).

Newnan is slightly too far away from Metro Atlanta to have one yet and the area in between is too close to the world's busiest airport (metro development on I-85 South is depressed by fear of a new runway ruining property values). There's one AT that airport 15-20 minutes away but it may as well be a million miles away at lunch time because I'm not going to pay for parking and go through security checkpoints to get Chipotle.

I introduced a friend to Chipotle. He travels around the country all the time, but absolutely loves Chipotle. He's eaten at the same hole-in-the-wall Mexican places in San Diego that my brother and I have eaten at. His family is from Texas and most of their meals growing up were Mexican or Tex-Mex. Unlike him, I'm not really a fan of Mexican food in general. Chipotle blows me away with awesome flavor every goddamn time and mister-Mexican-food absolutely loves it too. It's just some basic ingredients, with awesome quality and flavor. I don't care if someone says it's not Mexican. I don't even particularly like Mexican food.

He wanted to get a bunch of people together and start a franchise in our town because there's absolutely no question it would be profitable. Unfortunately, Chipotle doesn't do franchises. 🙁

Chipotle is great, food is fresh. I do get tired of it so I look for other options but I always seems to head back there. I usually get a chicken bowl, brown rice, fajita veggies, pico, hot salsa, lettuce & a little sour cream. I then dump a ton of tabasco green hot sauce on it. I know its not "authentic" mexican food ( I LOVE pasole, that's authentic mexican) but you can't argue against the fact that the ingredients are fresh.

You're crazy man. There are lots of great interior Mexican dishes other than mole poblano. Al pastor when done well is spectacular. Cochinita pibil is about the most flavorful pork dish I have ever had. If you like pork then red pozole is a pretty amazing soup. Pipian is awesome with chicken. Birria is awesome if you like goat and can find a place making it.

Is it pozole or posole? Back in high school my friend's mom from New Mexico made us some posole after we had a day of skateboarding and it was one of the most amazing meals I ever had. Coming from a land of constant cajun food it was something new and awesome

I have seen it spelled both ways. Doesn't matter since z and s have the same s sound in Spanish anyways, so it's always pronounced po-so-lay.
