Saw this at [H]. Not sure if real, or if anyone else has mentioned this:

Many forums in China all have various articles about Kepler being inexpensive, HD7900 will plummet in price etc. Looking at the internation forums, there isn't any reports about it. All the editors "uncovering leaked" information in the major forums is clearly NV's (Nvidia) PR using the flooder(people who mass comment on forums) army to suppress the HD7900's selling and its lead. I will lock any Chiphell posts, and I hope that any other members reposting [GF104 rumors] will self-discipline.

rough chinese translation. A forum poster at chiphell was the "source" for practically all of the Kepler "leaks", and is discovered to be a viral marketer for nVidia. Now he is banned.

from here:

http://www.chiphell.com/thread-349828-1-1.html

Good stuff. wonder whats real and whats BS about kepler?

edit2:

As I did for the other thread, am posting a "fair warning" mod comment here for the community's benefit and behest: Critique the message (the context and pretext of the contents of the link itself), not the messenger.

And that goes for the messenger of the message within the link. You can critique the message, the method of its delivery, and your perception of the intent if you feel inclined.

Threadcrapping in this thread is not acceptable. If you don't like the thread then don't post in it. The very topic itself is intrinsically inflammatory, as such it is the ruling of the VC&G moderator staff that this thread is NOT a flamebait thread.

Find a way to be productive, respectful, and civil OR stay out of the thread. Personal attacks, thread-craps, etc will be sanctioned.

surely to god they could come up with something better than 2gb on a 256bit bus. 700 some odd mhz? I mean, nvidia marketing must be completely out of touch with todays GPUs.

I think most of the kepler "leaks" are BS anyway. Surely nvidia would be smart enough to actually make up realistic scenarios. Its obviously from ppl who dont have a clue whats up.

Anyway, posting a post from a post on another forum that is from the most terrible translation i could ever imagine isnt much for news. I am sure you can see that most of the broken translation is gibberish. Pic out a few words from the nonscense and make a juice story.

And where's a better place?

hats off.

Could easily just be some dedicated fans trying to generate some (made up) good news for NVIDIA.

No way that was orchestrated by Nvidia marketing. They are real pros, and those leaks were decidedly amateurish. Hmmm, maybe AMD marketing was involved...

Yes, he is. He TROLLS nVNews daily. Does nothing but thread crap in the AMD forums. But does nothing to help in the nvidia forum.

Now after this fiasco (from OP), he is saying he will keep his 580's and 80% performance, because it runs everything fine.

fudzila & especially vr-zone have claimed info from nvidia to some extent, whereas s/a Charlie has claimed inside sources & having seen cards (the info was from chiphell & is the same if you look at each article).

Which is why Charlie is already back tracking to some extent believing he may have been taken for a ride as fudzila had once by nvidia (Did Charlie really see cards from sources?).

Seems, nvidia is playin durtty and there is only one reason why if its true.

Am glad chiphell had the nuts to actually own up since most wont for the HITs!!

TRollo learned Cantonese ?

Dude be careful speaking ill of Rollo. Rollo is a 'Focus Group Member' and friends with the other guys who are as well. He still by proxy could flex a little muscle (carefully and discretely of course), in this forum.

Anyone remotely connected to Nvidia knows Rollo and he knows them.
NV and Rollo are so tight, to this day- that I'd go as far to say NV is Rollo and vice versa.

This is either a genious parody post, or I feel very, very bad for you.

I've been leaning towards nVidia dropping hotclocks. Another possibility though is that they are not dropping hotclocks and GPU clocks are low because of it. Not being able to do +2GHz on the shaders could mean either, drop hotclocks, or, drop GPU clocks.

Could easily just be some dedicated fans trying to generate some (made up) good news for NVIDIA.

Taking this thread at face value, the poster was busted, convicted, and banned. There doesn't seem to be any grey area to take the blame away from nVidia. Unless they plead the "Sgt. Schultz" defence (I know nothing!). :D

It's more likely that they would just lower the multiplier like like they did going from GF200 to Fermi. It's frustrating how little is known about Kepler except that Nvidia is "focusing on efficiency" and that it won't see too drastic changes.

Could be this is all just BS to try to draw focus away from this:

It's time.

Yeha, I'm sure a Chinese website posted something about NV viral marketing at 21:04 Chinese time (I assume the time on Chiphell is Chinese time, even if it's my local time it's still 6 hours before the ABT article - 08:04 EST if Chinese or 17:04 EST if my local time) because some non-Chinese website posted something about AMD viral marketing on the same day at 22:17 EST.

Which site is posting BS to try and draw away attention?

yeah, its a pitty about the date. I would take chiphell`s word over these unknown`s any day. Its a lame attempt to sway attention from nvidia.

I`ve been on other forums where people have been brain washed into thinking nvidia will put out a card which beats a 7970 at half the cost, nvidia could price the 580 accordingly now and still achieve the same results than a few/couple months down the line.

Not gonna happen :whiste:

Just bcoz AMD made it in the top 10 trust worthy companies don`t make it perfect, but i would trust it any day over nvidia.

Related to this topic, the top 10 to 20 threads are either discussions of AMD's high end chips or rumors about viral marketing. I guess there's nothing concrete worth discussing about nV's current or future product line ups right now.
