Well I just did a quick search and read the 2 recent car threads you started. In both threads there was 1 instance of someone mentioning "mullets"... I'm sure you take offense to this, but I wouldn't consider this exactly racist. In which case, it appeared that the people who brought it up were joking. However in this case, the OP was not joking, he was saying it in a matter-of-fact way. Seems to be a difference to me...

I don't think it was the Ching comment. I think it was the nazi comment in the same post. Many times a nazi comment will get you a vacation.

It is an extremely bigotted term and only shows ignorance and intollerance.
As true rednecks we take pride in our culture and embrace our rich history. Only us rednecks are allowed to use the term by calling each other "yo, what's up neckie!"
A non redneck only uses the term in bigotry and should be ashamed of himself, publically ridiculed and hung, possible dragging from the back of a car. Its just not right and needs to stop immediately so as not to contiually insult our race and culture.

Hmm, maybe we've come upon the difference between what the OP is asking then. True it can be an ignorant term - what if I used the term redneck and didn't actually mean anything derogatory about it (which is the case for me using it, just like saying "geek") - only to describe the type of person I'm thinking of. Obviously when someone says "ching-chong-chang" to a chinese/asian person, that is actually mean-spirited and purposefully hurtful, using racial differences, no less. How's that for a reason for vacation ?
The guy said it twice, both implying racist meanings, and in the same sentence when he said it the second time, he implied that all germans are nazis (or at least all german cars are nazi cars)...

I take offense to that comment because I am white and live in a trailer so am I white trailer trash :disgust:
People just ned to get over this kind of BS and get on with your life. This kind of crap will never leave if we dont just ignore it but we rather make alot of out of it. Once we get over the peschool mentality and just ignore it then people wont have a reason to make comments like this anymore because it no longer gets under a persons skin.
take a hint from one of your own, jeff foxworthy. if he can laugh about his redneck heritage, so can you.
According to Chris Rock, the same can be said about black people and the N word. Yet, everybody agrees that the N word is offensive.
