Not really news; doesn't seem like a repost. Okay, I don't know if any of you consider this normal but.....

How can a father allow his child do something like this? Granted, he was swimming along with her... Yes, folks in China are known to be pretty hardcore, but this is borderline cruel. It says the girl wanted to do it, but hell, my parents wouldn't even let me ride a bike alone around the block when I was a kid.

"A newspaper report said the girl was so cold her face had turned blue." 🙁

From the same article:

"This past summer, 8-year-old Zhuang Huimin ran 2,212 miles from her home on the southern island province of Hainan to Beijing in 55 days, her father trailing behind her on a motor scooter. The run drew criticism from some media commentators as excessive for a young child."

Either way, credit to the girl for pursuing her dream so freakin' passionately.

8 yrs old? WTFBBQ!1? :Q When I was 8 I was a bratty, waffle-eating, arthur-watching, lazy punk who would probably barf it up after one mile.
 
This is why China will replace us at the top. That girl is going to grow up to be a super kung fu assassin who can wear formal wear. She'll be the bond girl who actually kills Bond. She'll stick her stiletto heal through Jason Bourne's throat.

I've done something like that, though nowhere near as bad.

I've ran about 2 miles down a dirt gravel road when I was 8. Naked, with no shoes.

Basically, Swimming in a river in Korea. Friends took my clothes and shoes and ran.

By the end of the run, my feet basically stopped bleeding cause the dust caused the blood to clot.
