it is broccoli, except the "flower" part is tiny and you're eatting the leaves and the stem.

Chinese broccoli = Chinese kale = gai lan = gai lum = kai lan Notes: Like rapini, Chinese broccoli has small stems and green heads (which actually are flowers) and lots of leaves. But Chinese broccoli is leafier and less bitter than rapini. It's a great vegetable to stir-fry, but you can also steam or boil it, as you would broccoli. Substitutes: rapini OR broccoli OR bok choy

Hmm i have to say i enjoy napa and bok choi more than chinese brocoli.

you are chinese? I love all broccoli! you should try Broccolini, sorta like chinese broccoli, but they sell it in the american supermarket.

they are kinda pricy, like $2.50 a bunch if not on sale, they taste like chinese broccoli, because its cross between chinese and regular broccoli. unlike chinese broccoli, which can be too hard and need to cook for a long time sometimes, these are SO tender and crunchy. yum yum!
