From the looks of it, the airbag was trying to save itself from getting smacked by the dummy. Isn't this car an almost exact copy of the Isuzu Rodeo?

With such poor crash scores, would anyone insure it?

you are correct, Landwind is using the parts from discontinued Isuzu Rodeo.

The crash test results of Isuzu Rodeo and Honda Passport is not much better. But I never heard of the score of "0".

The following US and Japanese vehicles did not do well back in those days. But Chinese company should not just build the same car without improving the structure. Not an excuse.

Pontiac Trans Sport/Montana 1997-2005

Toyota Previa -- not good result also

This is already available as (a second hand) Isuzu Rodeo and the Honda or Vauxhall clones of said deathtrap, so some people are already treating driving as an extreme sport.

meh, they're probably just pissed that the Chinese are trying to take over the market.

Who exactly?

The Germans (in particular the German car "club" that did the testing)

ohh you mean by giving them a zero. Ah, I see. Nevermind the fact that the steering wheel practically decapitated the driver.

...and the front wheel will cut off your feet.

I'm sure that the Chinese mfg. cut out a lot of "unnecessary" steel to make it cheaper. Who needs a fire wall when you can save $10 a car?

jeebus, the wall travelled into the car so much before recoiling. i even feel sad for the dummys riding in the car

Yikes! Somebody got a little overzealous with their crumple zone!!

I always resisted slowing down to watch an accident, but I just couldn't help watching the video a few extra times. Oh MAN!

heh well the Rodeo didn't get scores quite as bad but it is still bad. I've had my "deathtrap" for nearly 11 years and I don't *feel* any less safe.

It's good though that I see this... it reminds me not to tailgate.

Two-ton 4x4? :Q That's really light.
Not really. The ford explorer is 4,304 lbs which is only a little more than 2 tons. The Ford escape is lighter but I don't know its exact weight.

damn ... i love how the airbag delopys a seecond before the whole steering column shoots into the driver's face

Well you wouldn't want the wheel to get all scratched up by the driver's teeth.

man that sucks...there are indian cars in the european market that arent supposed to be too bad.
Wow, times sure have changed. Until they started opening up their markets not all that long ago, wasn't the main Indian car the Ambassador? It featured the best of forward thinking 1950's British technology combined with the high levels of fit and finish only a state protected near monopoly could provide!

HaHaHa.
If progressives in America hadn't fought for crash safety testing we would all be driving cars like the Chinese one.

Holy crap, it's a rolling Beer Can

I'm sure they'll be on sale at Wally World next week and Americans will be flocking to buy them.
