China's canine conundrum

I see why people think eating dogs is cruel, but I disagree.
In US, people kill millions of dogs too, just like in China. Except in China, they eat them, instead of us, which we just dispose them.
Pigs are smart animals too. We don't feel bad about eating them too, because no one has them as pets. It's all pretty silly IMO to eat a pig, and then say eating dogs is just completely wrong.

If god didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat.
/Homer J. Simpson

I don't eat meat, and I find it hilarious that you guys who do, get up in arms about which animals others eat.

They don't teach English to 7th graders any more? Even if you were in Kindergarten, it still wouldn't be an excuse for your lack of capitalization.

Some pigs are actually smarter than some dogs.

Eating dog meat in China is just as bad as eating cow or pig meat in America. We may see it differently because we're used to owning dogs as pets, but eating dogs, pigs, or any animal is still eating an animal. Case closed.

I remember a friend in junior high showing me some faces of death video where the guy just starts cutting into a puppy while its still alive like it was a thanksgiving turkey. I had nightmares for weeks.

i've seen that segment, it was so fake. bascially a slab of meat covered with fur. they bascially switch it out with a real dog.

however, you should be able to get some real footages. i've seen clips of store displays where they hang the hind half of the dogs after roasting it.

I don't see the difference between eating dogs and eating cows. Some people develop close connections to either species, while some eat either species. If I had a chicken for a pet and loved it, is it wrong for you to raise chickens in tiny crowded little cages, kill them and eat them? If you are vegetarian and are against killing animals for food, then that is another story.

When was the last time a cow saved a life?

Right, one cow even burn down Chicago as legend had it.

but as for pigs....

"Priscilla, a 2-month-old piglet, saves a young boy. from drowning."

I suggest everyone who has something against killing animals for food or utilities develop some form of photosynthesis before stepping into the real world.

So you want the ability to save a life as the criteria by which we decide what to eat?

First of all, I'm sure sometime in our long history a cow has saved a human life. If you want to argue that dogs are more able to save lifes and do so at a much higher frequency, then I ask you when was the last time a quadrapalegic saved a life? Does that mean we should eat quadrapalegic people?

Every morning I check into BBC and this morning listened to the recorded broadcast of this article.
My father told me of this practice of eating dogs in the early 1950s. So what! The French eat snails and horse meat. Just as gross to most Americans.

This is the year of The Dog=fire up the BBQ 😛 Some rice and sweet-sour sauce...Yum.

OT can harass and degrade Southerners, Christians, Jesus, Gays, Rednecks, but god help us if we mock the Chinese for eating dogs. Many of the Asians here in OT have a gang mentality about them....Live with it!

...Galvanized

im used to the stereotype. when my friends mention it im always saying "i make a mean dog, come over sometimes and try some" its funny looking at their faces LOL

When's the last time you met someone who had a cow as a pet?
Domesticated cows have turned genetically dumber over the years.
