China, the land of freedom.

My niece is currently in Beijing on a school band trip, and we have no direct contact with her for 6 days.

So far we have only 1 message from her teacher telling everyone that all 79 kids and 12 adults have all arrived to Beijing.

Everyday the entire group allowed 1 session of 10 minutes window to email home and it is administered by a teacher from their 5 stars hotel and phone conversations have to be booked ahead & monitored.

Too bad that the teachers and the parents weren't inform of how repressive China is after the Olympic.

Your niece should have brought over a unlocked quad band phone with her. She could have picked up a prepaid sim card cheap over there.

You're surprised? China is a national modern day Gestapo. The worst part about it is that they have their entire country brainwashed. I had a conversation on Have Your Say with a Chinaman who was absolutely convinced that the United States started both world wars and is responsible for all the death and terrorism in the world.

Some people in the United States believe that too. They're called Michael Moore's circle jerk.

I just read an article that said Mao murdered something like 70 million Chinese and the majority of their population has no idea.

Smoke and mirror...smoke and mirrors.

Don't think 'murdered' is the right word... his retarded economic policies led to mass starvation that led to the deaths of probably more than 70 million people.

Also to the op i call shens or your niece and her teachers/classmates are retarded. If they are actually staying in a 5 star hotel they can just pick up the phone and make an international call anywhere (albeit for an inflated price but its a hotel so...). In regards to email... when i was there last summer i was posting here for quite a bit of the time and emailing my college about applications so... shens

I guess this is where you all call me a Chinaman apologist... :disgust:

I'd say having retarded economic policies that directly impacts mass starvation and not doing anything about it would constitute mass murder.

'Mass murder' i would agree with but to me 'murder' is the act of one person actually killing someone else. Sorta like how the mob hitmen murdered people but the bosses that directly ordered the killings didn't. Either way agree to disagree

Mob bosses who've been arrested for ordering the hit went down for murder. Just because you didn't pull the trigger dosen't mean you're not a murderer 🙂 Seventy million people? What, did he just not notice them dying from starvation or did he simply ignore them and let them die? Wow, what a great leader 😛

What does a school teacher's rule have anything to do with China's freedom?

Because blaming a whole civilization for one person's actions is the American way!

I think Orwell predicted this: 1984.

That was last summer. It is now spring 2009.

What does a school teacher's rule have anything to do with China's freedom?
It is not the teachers rule.
