"The ignorant and backwards.. "

I have many opinions about China, even a few that are negative, but those 2 aren't any of them.

People would be foolish to believe that things like this couldn't happen in the US. Or that parrots like Felix wouldn't apologize for them if they did.

The Communist Han Chinese are running concentration camps at this very moment for over 1,000,000 people, threaten freedom of navigation via the man made and militarized Spratly "Islands", and steal American jobs.

Thankfully Donald Trump is trying to force the ignorant and backwards government of China to trade fairly with us, promote free navigation in the South China Sea with American naval power, and thereby bring back jobs to America.

And "Thankfully Donald Trump" supports China with his businesses and has no interest in humans at all unless they personally benefit him.

I also note that Walmart is still doing well enough.

What he *could* do is break off all personal dealings with Chinese goods as an example and work with the EU and some other agreeable nations so that when the G20 comes around a unified and agreed upon platform can be put forward for humane treatment tied to trade. Mandatory random inspections would be a given, and preference given to nations which pass a minimum standard. Again this would be worked out in advance because China and others will oppose it, but there are other potential providers of relatively cheap stuff not out to slaughter.

Of course this would require finesse, foresight, intelligence, cooperation, and considerable diplomatic skills supported by intelligent advisors with interests in not only trade but the human condition.

None of these exist in Trump nor his officials.

No matter what else can be said about the Chinese, their govt has transformed China into a prosperous & powerful state in the very short period of 40 years. It's the best govt they've had in at least 150 years & they know it. They are consequently quite patriotic.

They've never been a democracy, not for the last few thousand years. Within that there have been periods with more or less personal freedom, as well. That's relatively high today.

It's also kinda amusing observing Islamophobes going on about China's treatment of their Muslim minority.

You know, I like this idea. China has become fat and happy taking jobs away from Americans by producing cheap goods with underpaid labor and massive environmental contamination. They even poison their own people by making contaminated milk and fake drugs, not to mention the extremely hazardous air surrounding Beijing:

Indeed, there is nothing particularly admirable about the current situation. China must change its ways and release the 1,000,000 wrongly held political prisoners.
