This is just a reminder that fascists are able to consolidate and exert a lot of their power by doing farcical things that people don't take seriously. People laugh and don't take seriously stupid things fascists do and say. You can look at the current crop of fascists who have stupid fucking hair, e.g. Trump, Boris and Javier. These dogfuckers are built for primetime with their stupid hairdos and dumb-as-fuck soundbites.

Lots of people laugh about them, meanwhile the fascists are making plans.

I think right now Trump is probably in some sort of narcissistic euphoric mania. He's successfully escaped near-certain prison and will be president again soon. I think he feels invincible and will keep testing boundaries until something bad happens.
 
If Trump spends more of his time renaming stuff and less time signing bills then I consider that a win.

I think narcissism is a team sport that can exist only via a feed back mechanism. Outrageous behavior doesn't exist in a vacuum. It depends on negative attention. An outrageous person is only outrageous because people react to outrageous behavior with outrage. People make the mistake of blaming the outrageous person's outrageous behavior on that person rather than where it the outrage actually exists, in themselves.

Why does narcissism exist other than to outrage others and why do others get outraged. Ask yourself. If you were capable of being honest wouldn't you agree it's jealousy? That fucker Trump is getting all the attention that I should get. I'm the one who plays by the rules and effaces himself, who humbly serves by staying in bounds and playing by the rules. Why do attention seeking assholes get all the glory. They should really be paying attention and flattering me.

Back when I was in second grade there was a girl I had a crush on who loved a boy whose name I just remember was named Zak. He used the F word and did this thing I didn't know about with his middle finger. Why would a girl prefer such an asshole to me. How blind can people be. And what a worthless piece of shit I felt back then possessed as I was by such contemptible jealousy. How come he didn't have to live in the same prison?

I just read a fascinating study done in rats to determine how much genetics vs environment plays in determining competitive success. It was observed that among genetically identical male rats, early success in gaining resources set those rats up for resource dominance later over males who did not have such success. The interesting finding was that while decent genes are part of the equation when ruled out the actually source of success was just dumb luck. If a male rat was for whatever reason successful in early resource acquisition it would generally continue to be that way.

Imagine being a narcissist in a world where what is called greatness is mostly just a matter of chance.
