Tryyy ittttt. I'm mainly curious to see if anyone else implements the "trick" I was referring to. It's in no way a cheat. I can get 10 (max) most every time.

Well, that was a boring "game" and I don't see why anyone would need a "trick" to do well. It was easy to get 10 on the first try.

What size screen are you viewing when you play? I think if you're viewing on a smaller screen it would be easier.

I think it's that when the numbers show up, you look at them, and you remember them.

I'm usually only actually "remembering" the first 3 or 4, but I'm blaming that on lack of sleep. :p

When they're clustered tight I have no problem, it's scanning the screen that's the issue.

if you stare at the screen and don't focus on anything, you can still see the silhouette of the number in the white box for a second or so

Ok, not much of a response to this. Anyway, my "trick": I stare at the screen (duh), and as soon as the numbers show up, I shut my eyes quickly (and keep them shut) before they disappear. This seems to retain a fading image (think burn-in), for me, that I can still kinda see while my eyes are closed. If I don't do this, I don't think I could get 10/10. If the numbers are clustered closely together, I can see more of them in the brief moment they're displayed. If they are clustered far apart, my eyes can't see all the numbers clearly without moving at least a little bit, and there just isn't enough time to move your eyes from the initial light exposure before the numbers disappear.

This is on a CRT, and I realize most people use LCDs these days. I'm not sure if this "trick" wouldn't work as well, or at least differently on an LCD because of the different type of light source.

Tied. Got the last 8 in a row...I didn't really understand what was happening the first two rounds.

Anymore that 6 numbers and I probably would have failed, though.

You guys who are getting really good scores at this know that on average people score only about 40% on this right? The monkeys were averaging about 80%.

Also how long are the number staying on the screen for you guys? The article here suggests that it should be about 2/10th to 4/10 of a second. Does this sound about right or are they slower for you? This vid here shows about how fast the flash app should have them running:

They're only staying on the screen for a split second for me (about the same as the video). That's why I do the close my eyes thing. I imagine there's some sort of term for it, but when I shut my eyes quickly, before the numbers disappear, I can still see them, kinda a ghost image of them retained on my retina or something? I have no clue.

2/10 for me but not trying 100%

Let me give it another go with more focus. No "Burn in" tricks :)

If I had to do this for food I would get 8/10 too lol.

I'm doing this on an LCD now, instead of the CRT I was using previously. I still use the same trick, though I'm not sure if it's still as effective.
