Chili doesn't have beans

...yeah yeah yeah, and pizza doesn't have mushrooms and steak needs to be cooked on a cast iron pan and beer can't be in a can and etc etc etc.

Stop being to ATOT-ish.

i had a mexican girl tell me once that she didnt like crackers in her chilli. considering i wasnt talking about chilli, i don't think she meant it so literally.

QFT x10000, I have a stupid fucking neighbor who we fight about this on a constant basis. Then last week we went to a pizza place down town that by default makes their pizzas white. I already knew they did, but he didn't, and he didn't read that part of the menu and was like "WTF there's oil and no tomato sauce on my pizza!" He was acting like somebody had slapped his wife. I brought up our Chili fights and he said it wasn't the same. I think next time I see him I'm going to stab him in the Larynx with my Titanium Spork. I wish a law was passed that made people who served chili with beans to have to specify on the menu. Most places I ask the server goes "gee, I don't even know, let me go ask..." in fact pass a law that requires them to call it something totally different so when I see chili on the menu I know it doesn't have beans in it and there's no mix up when a server tells me "no beans" and my fucking Chili Cheese Fries are covered in disgusting ass beans. I should take my Titanium Spork with me everywhere so I can stab these incompetent servers too.

Is there any reason why chilli can't have beans? I prefer chilli with beans, therefore my chilli has beans. Food snobs are such douchebags.

I'm with the OP, no beans in chili, deal with it!

I don't have to deal with it as I am the one making the chili. Chili with beans if for eating as chili. Chili with no bean goes on a wiener or on Frito Corn chips. I see there are quite a few in here who are sensitive about eating wieners.

i think by definition it doesn't, I know I've seen canned chili and canned chili with beans... if chili was meant to have beans wouldn't they say chili without beans and just chili instead?

I prefer my chili with black beans (screw kidney), mushrooms, and spaghetti, maybe now and then add cheese and sour cream, maybe not, sometimes crushed tortilla chips, sometimes crushed up crackers, sometimes none

sure, I call it all chili, just like some people say decimate when they really mean destroyed instead of killed 1 in 10

WTF? Are you guys saying that people have opinions regarding food? And despite knowing this, there continue to be arguments about it? Next you'll tell us there's trouble in the Middle East... 🙄

I think Chili needs some beans but I'm not going to tell anyone else how to have their own Chili.

Where beef was plentiful and cheap, chili was made without beans. When chili became popular in regions where beef was more expensive, beans were added to make up for having less beef in the chili.
