Not really. I'm lucky that I'm paid pretty well for my software development job so I can afford to do this once a year. It helps that I still rent and don't have very expensive tastes (no $200 jeans for me 🙂 ) .

With people worrying about the economy I'd consider it good news if enough more people donate that I need to transfer a bit extra out of my savings account for the matching.

To anyone worried about using free shipping: the hospitals need the books, toys and games year-round so they do not need to arrive by xmas or even new years. Make Amazon donate the shipping and spend the difference on an extra book.

That's good advice in general, but posting it in this thread shows you didn't read the OP or anything else about Child's Play.

With Child's Play you go to Amazon.com gift registries and buy toys, books and games that ship directly from Amazon to a specific children's hospital. 0% goes to admin fees or salaries, no one rakes 20% of the Lego pieces out of a box.

Extra matching! If you need tax ID numbers for the hospitals, just go back to the Amazon gift registries and look at the hospital information in the left column.

I'm amazed and happy about that too, especially since we started off slowly this year.

Great work getting the company matching, WarhammerUC. I'll need to mention next year that people should ask their HR or office manager about it. Mine doesn't but maybe next year I can convince them to match my matching 🙂 .
