Children of Dune March 16th.

I've read the books except Heretics and Chapterhouse. I've read Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, and God Emperor of Dune in the past two months. Hopefully it will be good, I heard the previous mini-series was ok. I'll catch that before the new one starts.

Its a good book series so far. I think its kind of hard to translate well into film because its deep and many people do not get deep.

this is both good and bad

if it is done like teh first doon movie teh old one. then i will satch it and be very happy. if it is like teh new one they made which sucked ass. then i wont see it and will be mad

What a completely horrible time for me...luckily I managed to buy a tuner card last week, so looks like I'll catch it at some point 😉

how many episodes in this mini-series? 3 again? I loved the first one and even bought it on dvd. Maybe I will snatch my dad's Dune books to refresh my memory on these 2 books but Sunday sure doesn't give me much time to read.

The actress who plays "Alia" is pretty damn attractive 🙂. I wont post pics cause I dont want this thread to get locked.

Yea.. Theres a Women of Dune special on scifi at 11pm est. Im curious to see if they know anything about their characters...

I thought the first mini-series was very good. When you watch it you can tell it's a made for TV movie in that the backdrops in the desert are obviously fake. On the other hand some of the sets inside the palaces are spectacular.

For me the original 1984 movie starring Kyle MacLachlan was just too weird and at times painfull to watch. I think the miniseries has done a more faithfull job of adhering to the book. It will be interesting to see how they work the last two books into one movie this time around.

I got the DVD and must say it is hand down the most razor sharp picture in my entire DVD collection. Again, amazing for a miniseries.

The only thing which has me down is the absence of Saskia Reeves for the new miniseries. It looks as though Jessica has been recast by Alice Krige (you may remember her as the Borg Queen from Star Trek). I always thought Saskia Reeves was a knockout, but perhaps Alice Krige is a better actor...

I'll watch just b/c I have a life-long h*rd-on for Susan Sarandon. My wife is definitely hotter than her, but Susan just has that "I'll *really*rock your world" attitude that makes men wag their tongue. 😉
