I think it's hilarious how defensive Chinese people get over all of the attention their shitty country is getting because of the Olympics. With all that is wrong with China, do you think anyone really cares about the cute kid lip-syncing? The American/western press doesn't need to try to find ways to make China look bad; if they wanted to make China look bad, there are plenty of other things they could report.

My point is this is at best tiny little blurb. Just like the fireworks. Yet the press latches on to them and makes into a spectacle. Google this story and the fireworks and you'll find hundreds of media outlets having something related to those two. Yet hardly find anything recent about all the other crap they do. like the story queasy linked to.

it IS a spectacle because of what china is and how they touted their work on the opening ceremony as a massive achievement. such a regime known for false history and a tightly controlled media spouting propaganda and "official" news and that suppresses all dissent is on definitely watched with a skeptical eye. people will be on watch for chinese government bullsh*t and they should be esp when china claims to be more "open" during the olympics. no one has to make china look bad, they do this to themselves. you invite people to come look at your new house and brag about it, and pretend you can shove everything else under the rug? please..give me a break.

this is a live event. no one expects things like cgi or milli vanilli lip syching during such things. at the worst it should have been that girls own voice she lipsyched to. and no, a live event is not comparable to a movie where no one expects reality.

I love the realistic water effects they have. The fluidity and splash of the water is just amazing. I hope we can get that type of graphics in some games soon.

wtf, i have no problem with the fireworks...but making a chinese Milli Vanilli is just wrong. haven't you been reading all the chinese blogs? my guess is not. what ever happened to traditional chinese values, this is a twisted value that we're teaching our kids that outside is more important than what's inside.
