while in a sense i agree. BUT still takeing pictures of kids nude does still harm them. Some guys get off on the pictures but still want the young kids for real sex and they may fulfill the fantasy.

Wow. People were saying the same thing about homosexuals 50 years ago!

Killing and hating is not the answer, or did nobody learn from Jesus or Ghandi or MLK Jr.? Child molesters are sick in the head for some reason, lacking some emotional component. There are other ways to examine the issue, but how can you do that if pedophiles are scared for their freedom, lives, and testicles?

They should definitely prosecute those who take the pictures, or molest children, but just having photos on your computer should not be getting the punishments that some here are suggesting.

I think would-be child molestors will eventually molest a child, irrespective of whether or not they find kiddie porn. The porn is merely a symptom.

Of course possession of child porn doesn't necessarily mean you're a child molestor, but from what I understand 95% of the time it's the case. Addictive personalities, escalating acts, blah blah blah....

What the hell does it matter if they are under 15? Do you think that maybe some of the participants in this type of porn do it against their will even if they are over 15? There are adult women out there in the world that are forced to be used as sex toys. It doesn't matter what age.

I'm not sure that's even the question at hand. Psycopaths see no wrong in their violent crime, yet they are punished for their actions.
This is a debate over incarceration versus rehabilitation, and goes beyond the scope of just pedophilia.

I still think even having a terrobyte of child porn is nowhere near as bad as molesting a single kid. Not even close, not by a longshot, and should receive punishment proportionate to the crime, not sending people away for life for having some jpgs on their hard drive.
