my paperwork has a residency clause, she needs my permission to leave the state. We were never married, I have just been hoping she would come around and we wouldn't have to go legal.

I think I'm filing for joint legal, she retains physical if I recall correctly. Can anyone explain the difference between joint custody and what I would be filing for?

there really can't be real join custody unless both parents live in the same city and they spilt time equally, what normally happens is what your doing one parrent gets visitation and you have legal custody so you have say in improtant decsions (medical for example) but she retains phsyical which means your daughter primarly resides with her mother.

this is prolly overly simplified though and someone who knows more will call me a moron or something, which is buisness as usueal 😀

Stig, I'm glad that you are fighting for more time with your daughter. I've no real advice to give- I am a child of divorce but my knowlege of the situation is way out of date- but it sounds like you genuinely care about your child. I hope that things go your way.

I would talk with her in person and bring up your points again, if she disagrees then give her the papers. Women are so unreasonable when it comes to visititation/custody rights....been there/done that and it was settled in court.
