CHIEFVALUE.COM $1 shipping until April 1st

My AT friends,

www.chiefvalue.com has $1 shipping until April 1st on (most) items that they used to charge shipping on. They do have free shipping on a lot of items already.

And compare prices at newegg.com, as they sometimes are a bit cheaper. (Newegg.com also temporarily has $.99 shipping.)

Enjoy!

Computer cases not included, I guess? I don't see many different prices. The mouse on the front page is still $4.00 shipping. The external drive enclosure I wanted is still $6.00 shipping. I don't know what you are talking about.

Are they raising their base prices to offset the $1 shipping costs? It seems so but not as bad as Newegg is doing. The power supply I ordered yesterday is only 2 dollar more base price with the $1 shipping.

Newegg jacked the prices of a lot of their items to compensate for the $0.99 shipping special, been proven on several websites already. Chances are Chiefvalue has done the same.

Looks like chiefvalue is messing around with their shipping prices too. This morning I got the $1 shipping on a couple Vantec trays and now the Fedex shipping is $4 each.

Sorry if you have poor luck with this deal.

Another tidbit for any whostill doubt the newegg/chiefvalue connection:
Several of my last chiefvalue orders have had an application for a discover card with a newegg logo on the application inside.

I asked a customer service rep if they were Newegg or affiliated and was told no. What's to hide? It's already obvious anyway.

Allright, we're off topic anyway... So, I'm wondering why Newegg would want to operate under a second name, when name is one their biggest assets right now. I mean I could see a shady company opening a second storefront to hide from their old ratings but Newegg has the best rating! 😕

My personal theory: They've begun doing some serious advertising recently for newegg, so they will probably raise their prices a bit to compensate for the advertising, but keep the chiefvalue prices low. This way, new customers who just see the advertising will pay a bit more, but "hot deal" types like ATers will still get the bargains by going to chiefvalue.
