Hey,

I just recieved my Chieftech full size ATX black pc case from Newegg, for a computer Im building. I put in the front fan (I love that little locking system!), and now Im putting in a CDROM drive. How the hell do it screw it in???

I got two of these weird looking panels each containing 4 little slidy sticks, and maybe I use these? But how?
If someone knows what the heck im talking about, and can help, I would REALLY appreciate it. Is there like some kind of guide for configuring this case??

Thanks!

Connect the rails to the side of the drive then slide the drive in till you hear it lock.....This case is just like the Antec 1000 series case you can go here and download the manual for it. That might help you out.....

I got mine a couple months ago and love it. Very well built and sturdy. Great cooling without having to cut holes in your case and the latched side door makes everything very accessible. The hard drive and floppy cages are screwless which is nice. My only complaint is that its a pain to get the front bezel off, but most people will never have to take it off. I put some blue LED's and a blue cold cathode in the front I needed to take it off.

The case is awesome! Very innovative design, very clean, sturdy, expandable! I may get one for myself!

I would like to put a cathode inside it. But is it worth doing that if I didnt put a window on the side, but rather used clear front case fans, and let light come out the front? How much would come through?

thanks

An awesome deal for $49 w/o powersupply...
Only niggles are the slide-out-CDROM rails you must put on your 5.25" drives (but once they are on, it's slick to swap out drives!) and the front door - while nice, since it allows you to use beige drives w/o clashing, it can also get in the way a little bit. at least it opens 'all the way' which makes it nice when you're installing drives with the case horizontal.

The fan holders are awesome.

The 3.5" drive holders clip into place, very cool!

Nice, tall, roomy. Better get 24" IDE cables to reach the top 5.25" bays!

I recommend it. Particularly in BLACK - it looks like Darth Vader's rig.

I got the $49 deal @ Newegg for the black Chieftech case. It is awesome. Quiet too, even with four Enermax thermo-speed-control fans. My case temp = room temp. Running a 1.4Ghz T-Bird @ 1.6+Ghz with 40c CPU temp with an AX7/Panaflow HSF. Can't hear it over my other computer in the room.

The rails are a pain at first, until you know to put the screw in the hole on the left (out of the three available for each screw). At least that's what I had to do to mount my Lite-On DVD. The floppy can be tricky, too, but trial and error works. Once you get them mounted, removal is just a clip away...

Bought the Chieftec full ATX black in color when they were on sale at Newegg about month ago. Picked it up for $92 total with a 420 watt power supply. Happy so far just need to finish buying the pieces to fill it up with :).
