I have been waiting to see if they get the Black 420 Watt in but decided to just go for the Charcoal. I hope to build my new setup next week so if I delay any longer, I will not have a case. When I emailed them about Black, they said only for the 300 watt. The $6 price drop for my procrastination is a plus also.

The SX 1040 has 7 expansion slots: 3 short & 4 full length. Can this be a problem?? Are PC cards indeed different lengths? I don"t know just what I will be using yet. A PCI Video card, sound card, modem, RAID?,Network?, USB.... Would really appreciate some comments before I place order. Last day is 3-01-02 and possibly today, the 28th!

Its back up to $74 with 32 left-The charcoal is now the hot deal at $74-Why the don't sell this in Ibm black I'll never know??

sigh, i bought this case but with the 300w PS from new egg about 2 1/2 monthes ago
its an awesome case and i luv it
my friend just bought this case but from another company and his was actual IBM black unlike mine with the off black/charcol

<< his was actual IBM black >>

Do you know where he purchased it?

I can't seem to find the IBM black with anything but a 300w PS. After having both (the black and charcoal) I will only get the Black...Looks much better, IMO.

My sister got one of these. The power supply slider switch was set for 230-volt rather than 115-volt. Everyone check your power supply!

It also seems to have had a rough ride somewhere along the line, but it'll be all right.

Ordered Wednesday, got it Thursday. Just curious for those who have gotten your cases, what all is included? I think mine is missing a few items. It came with only 7 of the speed rails, missing 1 PCI slot cover, the power cord, and little box with screws. Should there be 8 speed rails? Do all the PCI Slots normally come covered? Should I have gotten any instructions? Thanks in advance.

the speed rail should come in pairs (that's what you screw into the cdroms to slide them in and out, right?). but the pci cover is probably actually the agp slot, and doesn't come with a cover, and it probably doesn't come with directions (i have a chenming, same thing, basically)

I thought there should be either 8 or 6 since no device would only need one unless how they sometimes give you an extra 1 or 2 incase you break one. So Looks like 1 missing item confirmed. Another question, what is the long purple plastic piece below the front plug wires for? I know the other 4 are for fans, but this one I cannot figure out.

it's for really long pci cards 😀 or long expansion cards...like raid cards and such blah blah blah 🙂

If you're missing a drive rail, try rattling the case around a bit. Mine "came" with only six, and then I found two had gotten disloged during shipping and were in the little crevice by the power supply. The "missing" PCI slot cover is probably for the AGP video card. No instructions included. I think you're golden.

You may have to hunt a while for those rails, there are many places for them to get stuck. Just look for a while and it should turn up. BTW, I ordered three 2/27 and I got them today (3/1).

I did have 3 missing Speed Rails at first but by shaking the case I found 2 more. So 1 is still missing and I don't even hear it rattling around. I don't think it could be that wedged in that I would not even hear it move, but you never know.

<< Strange... there is no "Model DX-01BD" on the chieftec site >>

Yep, there is, I just looked at it. It's the scorpio series..

In the bag of screws that comes with the case, there is a little silver donut about an inch wide. What is this for?
