Bummer... I was hoping the $20 price was going to be the everyday price. This is still a good price on a great case. I'm glad I got 3 last week... :D

The case I ordered last week was the Matrix model. This case is even bigger! It is a full tower and over 20% taller.

ouch..shipping comes to ~$23.xx for CA (it is probably actual shipping charges as the case will be heavy).

I don't have a problem with them if there are no rebates involved. The majority of horor stories are rebate horor stories. I bought 2 of the $19.99 cases last week (1 purple, 1 black/silver/window). Both were shipped promply and were better than I expected especially for the price. No rebates = good deal.

Thanks OP

I bought 3 mid-towers... And severly tempted to buy at least one of these full towers... (I can't believe I'm saying this, but...) Kudos to TD! With deals like these, they are going to be my #1 stop for cases.

Thanks OP
The issue people have with them is their CS. If your order goes ok, you won't have to deal with them.

From the photos, looks like a bare bare case. Doubt if there are any fans included and noticed that the side fan vent didn't even have the protective metal grill.

Also, suspect this may be an older version of this case. Didn't see any mention of front side ports for USB or firewire.

Still, these are built like a tank and if you have the rest of the components to turn it into a usable case, looks like a good deal. I know some get excited about aluminum cases, but unless you are dragging your machine around to LAN parties, the heavy duty all steel contruction is a much better option. Tolerances and case rigidity are excellent on this line, including the little features like rolled steel edges/corners that make a good case you can live with. I have the mid-tower model and very satified with it.

Still, even considering doing business with Tiger Direct, I have an AGR (automatic gag reflex).

Well, I bought 3 of their Matrix cases they were selling last week, and it was as quick and easy as Newegg. The shipping was only about $20 for 3 Mid-ATX steel cases.

While I won't buy most things from TD, I thought I'd give them a try since it was a hard deal to pass up. Turns out I had no problems and the cases got to me in about 3 days, all for $86 and some change.

I think the people who keep badmouthing TD haven't used them a long while. From what I've heard is there are plenty of people who have not been having problems, and this includes even their rebates.

If you remember OCZ was once a nefarious company, and now they are one of the most highly respected for enthusiasts (who are super-demanding).

Noticed one other anamoly. The case accommodates 6-5.25 drives but if you read through the product description, it says only 3 sets of rails are included. Begs the question, how are you going to use all the 5.25 drives slots? Rails are not usually interchangable between cases and are not an easy to find supply item, either.

Just my two cents...

D@mn straight. I have not used them in a LONG while. Like I said, the honeymoon is still on so long as you don't have to deal with their customer service, which was nil a few years back. You are right; they may have changed. Still, I could not bring myself to deal with a company who has apparently screwed so many people out of so many rebates.

I'm in for one after missing out on several mid tower TD deals earlier. I had my eyes on a mid tower aluminum model of this case with the side window, front USB/FW port and two fans included, but at $66 for that I thought this was a better (read cheaper) deal. It was $17+ shipped to PA so I'm happy that I got it for under $50. My next purchase will be with Directron, as whatever this case needs I can find there - I'd like a custom case badge and two CoolerMaster fans for my drives (altho this case doesn't allow an upper fan in front of the drive and a floppy drive).

I got the silver case, its not exactly what I wanted but it has the storage I need at a decent price and looks decent.... couldnt resist

Gonna have to mod this beast put a 120mm fan on top, i cant stand a bunch of 80mm fans.

Far as tigerdirect theyve allways done me good, half a dozen rebates and all arived on time.

Dont forget the free after rebate:
dvdrw pack
retractable cord usb, network, phone cables
only added like $1 shipping to the total

like said ive never had any rebate problems with them (aka onrebate) dont know what others deal is with them

These are great cases. I have a black one that I bought on AT 2 years ago. Here is what I like about them.

- Roomy
- Sturdy
- Removable hdd cages
- Rails for optical drives
- Plenty of drive bays
- Plenty of places for fans

Just an update, they had problems verifying my credit card, but were really nice and got the problem solved in a reasonable amount of time. I'm kind of surprised after all the negative things I've heard about them... maybe they're making some effort to improve the customer service.

quick update on these cases

Got my blue one today.. took a couple pictures for the curious

side by side with my antec SX1040B from a few years past that cost me $100+, this one cast me ~40 shipped. I'll be migrating over to the new case when i finally decide on mobo/cpu combo...

side by side
side by side dragon door open
picture dragon side view
picture dragon open view
picture door wih included 90mm fan

Mine came with enough rails(12 in white box) for all six 5.25 bays.. someone above mention not getting them all.. I did.

this case is huge...

the pitures online @ tiger direct only show one fan hole on the side.. it comes with two, and a 90mm fan included in the upper fan hole(last picture). That was a nice suprise..

Still waiting for the green ones to go on sale...

EDIT: Only $13.22 to 55403. This is very tempting.

Dravic, thx a lot for the pics !! Mine isnt scheduled for deliv until Thursday, so I'm glad to hear you are pleased with yours. Can you fit an 80 mm in front of the top hard drive cage and still have clearance to put a floppy right above that ?
