Is this case the same as the Antec SX630 (not the II) because it sure looks it. And this case does the have quick release drive bays and 3 fans (1 front intake, 1 rear exhaust and 1 in the 3.5 drive bays) right? Anyone have any experience with the cooling in the case?

Thanx for your help.

This is the nicest case I've ever used. Very well built, the left side opens with a latch (no more messing with screws!), the HD and floppy cages are removable for easy mounting, the 5.25" drive bays use rails (included) that just slide in and latch (very easy to remove your CD and/or CDRW if needed). The case also has 3 snap in holders for 80 cm fans: one in front of the HD cage, one in front of the case (below the HD cage), and one in the rear for exhaust. The louvers in the front of the case allow for excellent air flow to keep that CPU runnin' cool. Combine this case with a nice dual fan 350W power supply like the Enermax and you'll be very happy!

oh btw, antec/chieftec/chenming cases are all the same (PSU can vary though)

Wow i never noticed reviews on neweggs sight. I'm blind as a bat. 😱
Well in that case i'm gonna get this case, i wanted one with the removeable motherboard tray but oh well. And at this price i can spend money on some mods 😀

Antec most likely sells a version of this case. All but the brand new Antec cases were just rebadged Chieftec's.

That chieftec case is the one I used for my new system. I picked that one since it's quite small but still all the components fit into it. The layout is great and the front is designed so that the air is sucked in through the bottom part of the case. Just add an airfilter to it.
I didn't use any intake-fan, only an exhaust fan to suck air through the case.
Cooling hasn't a problem for me at least.

Good luck

/Matt

Does the DH-01W have USB or firewire access from the front? It doesn't look like it. If not, which is the next best Chieftec that does?

No it doesn't. The closet thing that i've found is the Antec 630II which is essentially the same case as this, except it has the front usb ports, and it has 2 open 3.5" drive bays instead of the 1, and the floppy drive cover. The cheapeast i've found it for is around 77 shipped here.

ChenMing/CheifTech is a common factory in China that makes these cases for many companies.
The Antec is the same case with aa Antec Power Supply. Alienware uses them with a custom front panel (straight - not curver)
ThermalTake sells a version, as do many other companies. Good peice.

Actually that one includes the power supply, You can get the SX600 II without power supply for $37.74.

No it isn't a typo. Although I see it is backordered at the moment.

This is just the case without a power supply, the sx630 II includes a 300 watt power supply (thats what the 30 represents, a SX 635 case includes a 350 watt power supply)

Just did a little search to see if I could find the SX600 in stock somewhere (I felt bad because it was backordered).

If you look at pricegrabber here and enter your zipcode it shows the best deal at chumbo because they have free shipping. See here.

The chieftec case would cost me $48 shipped from newegg, I am not sure what it would cost you. So $52.49 shipped for the Antec SX600II is not much more.

I have the same case, well, except it's aluminum. Bought it at Directron, has quick release drives, two intake fans (one in the harddrive cage) and a rear exhaust fan. Works quite well, spacious, etc. 🙂

You can buy a module from Chieftec that fits a 3.5" bay and provides 2 USB and one firewire socket, colour coded to match the case, Nice.

Have seen them for 16CHF (er, under US$10). Plan to install one on my new DX-01.
