Chicks which know how to fix cars = cool or intimidating?

I vote cool, up to a certain point (when they know more than me?)

Example 1: My girlfriend knows how to change her tire, but that's the limit. I change her oil, rotate her tires, air filters and stuff, but in an emergency, she knows how to switch out a flat. I think that's cool and probably pretty average for a girl.

Example 2: There is another friend of mine in my public relations society and she takes it to the next level. She changes her own oil. Yet while shes at our PR meetings and stuff, she is very feminine and ladylike. I think that's cool.

Example 3: My third example is an administrative assistant at work here. She is about 22 or so. I had to give her a ride home the other day because her old dodge caravan "broke down". I asked her what happened and she explained that the timing belt broke and it snapped the tensioner as well. She said she (herself) would be fixing both problems right after she replaced a couple if failing gaskets. She laughed about how her boyfriend didn't even know how to change the oil in the van. That intimidated me. She shouldn't know that much, she should be in the kitchen.

So, what do you think? Cool or intimidating?

Seeems to me that chicks that know how to fix cars would make fun of guys who don't. Another case of gendes reversing roles. Chicks fixing cars would be cool with me since there would be less work for me to do on the car but for some control freak guys it wouldn't be.😀

I'm the same way, and yes, it is a double standard. The chick who is fixing her van was badmouthing her fiancee because he sucks at teh repairs.

wow, is your girlfriend strong? because i tighten them lugs REAL tight and you really have to throw your body weight in to unscrew them.. i def think its a plug that a girl knows

Cool...here's why:

My wife and her sister were travelling from Dallas, TX back to our place in the Milwaukee, WI area. They got to the O'hare area in Chicago, and the car broke down. It's 2:30am. They pulled into the Oasis, and called me for some help. My wife was explaining to me all the "symptoms," and a cop pulls up to see if he can help. The van was overheating, the battery was dying, the power steering was gone...meaning there was a problem with the serpantine belt. The cop looks around, and tells them to add some power steering fluid and coolant, pointing to the oil fill cap and windshield washer fluid. 🙂 My wife respectfully points out that the PS Fluid is over there, and the coolant tank is on the other side of the engine. He then says that they should just fill them and head on there way. Again, my wife being a little smarter than that, sticks her hand down where the belt is, gives a little pull, and it comes right out of the engine bay. The cop left a little red-faced, and told them they could stay until they were able to get help. He never came back.

Anyway, it's nice, because she's not afraid to change the oil, belts, sparkplugs, etc...

Oh, and she's a PR rep for a home for Mentally Disabled adults, so she's also got a heart of gold. 😀

If a woman wants to learn how to fix a car or if a man want to learn how to bake a pie I say more power to them.

I would gladly hire a woman mechanic to work for me.

I think it's cool but I suck so bad at cars that it would be intimidating. I would only be able to counter it with computer building skillz. eek! (read: geek!)

I'd say any chick who doesn't know how to change tires is pretty fvcking stupid.
It's not like it's very hard.

If she doesn't want to, that's another matter entirely.

Oh and #3 sounds like a major hottie, chicks that know more than cooking are awesome, who the hell wants a dumb barbie wannabe?

My dream girl would be able to be beat me up in a fight without turning to the ole kick-between-the-legs tactic.

I've been SOL on that one so far though... 🙁

hottest mechanic chick ever was Alexandra Adi who played "Sam" on the show Step by Step. i'm at work so i can't supply the maxim/stuff pics.

i remember this cause the guy "JT" was intimidated by her mechanic skillz.

My fiancee' changed her own alternator, starting relay, belts, oil, installed a cold air intake.

She also fixes things around the house that break... shes much more skilled than I.

That's a negative, sorry =(

Because you can't handle a woman that leaves the kitchen.

Women that know how to use power equipment and work on cars = hot!
