Chick Hearn has died

🙁 Damn, this is not the way Old Golden Throat should have gone out. Damn, I'm going to miss hearing him call games, a true legend of sports. Rest in peace Chick.

"You can put this one in the refrigerator. The door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard and the Jello is jiggling."
🙁

🙁 🙁 🙁 He was, and will remain, an L.A. legend. I live in L.A., so during the playoffs, like most Angelinos, I would mute the TV sound to kill the horrible network calling and play Chick's radio broadcast.

Considering his age and his recent health problems, I think it was great and fitting that he was able to return after his last big problem to call the Laker three-pete. It was a remarkable finish to a remarkable career.

I grew up watching and listening to Lakers games, and I will really miss Chick Hearn. 🙁 🙁

Chick just seemed like a great guy. He loved life, he loved what he did, and you could always see and hear that every time he was on the air. He will be sorely missed by this fan. I am sure there are many of you that have never heard Chick call a game, and that's a shame.

RIP Chick, see you on the other side. 🙁

🙁 X infinite

This is like your favorite uncle dying. It's just not going to be the same.
