Chicago Style Pizza Vs. NY Style Pizza

Well, i prefer thin to thick, so I guess I'll have to vote for NY style. Really, I like any pizza that is heavy on the sauce... I can't stand dry pizzas.
 
hard to believe but best pizza is in columbus ohio. it's thin like NY style, but theres no way you can fold it.

its kind of crisp and chewy at once. these are some of the best.

I was with you (in theory) until you mention that it can not be folded. What is it, a cracker? Next, you'll tell me you need to eat it with a knife and fork.
 
Don't like floppy pizza unless it has the right ingredients. Deep dish / stuffed is good almost regardless of ingredients. But, floppy pizza with great ingredients is even better. Ugh... tough call. I guess deep dish because I'm rarely disappointed.

If "NY style" means something other than floppy, e.g. thin crust "neapolitan", I need more time to consider.
 
I have tried Chicago style pizza in Chicago and NY style pizza in NYC. I've only liked Chicago style pizza in Chicago. NY style pizza is good, but my experience with Chicago style pizza in Chicago was really really good. Unfortunately I rarely go to Chicago, and the local places don't make good Chicago style pizza.

I voted Chicago style.
 
I think the OP should differentiate between NY-style and NYC-style. I've had pizza in NY outside of NYC and tastes like crap. But go to any mom-pop run pizzeria shop in NYC and I'm in heaven :heart:

teeth will suffice, if you got 'em.

no, it is nothing like a cracker, as i said, it's chewy, and crisp/crunchy, at the same time. it's also thin, but substantial, which sounds contradictory, doesn't it ?

in all other ways it's like NY style, I think. small amount of sauce spread thin, topped with cheese, and greasy pepperoni, usually.

but the slighty crunchy crust bottom stands up to the grease, etc, and doesn't get soggy enough to fold, at least not easily.


 
D'oh, my vote would've tied NY with Chicago, but I opted for the "I'm a NY'er, so I'm just plain intolerant 🙂" vote instead.
 
NYC style, thin crust, cooked in an old old pizza oven with a nice crust, nuthin betta! Amante's Pizza in Chapel Hill, NC serves some good stuff. You "loaf-of-bread" pizza lovers out there need to taste a real pizza.
