That actually seems fairly realistic considering what the ChicagoPD is known to have done (literally torturing people in covert locations).

I can only imagine how shitty this show is though considering I haven't heard of it and yet I'm vaguely aware of the like 100 godawful police shows on TV (only thanks to my sister's terrible taste in media content).

That happens in a lot of shows. We hate displays of police brutality\skirting the laws in real life but cheer on the tough beat cop who skirts the law or beats up the suspect to catch the bad guy because those pesky laws are getting in the way of justice!

Very formulaic but the only watchable Chicago xxx show until Chicago Justice just started up. Reminds me of Law and Order show that has been on since the dawn of time. CJ Fits in well Sunday night with Shades of Blue if nothing else is on.

The show kinda hides right after L&O SVU. In fact they've done several cross-over episodes that I am aware of. So if you're avoiding police shows it's easy to miss.

I haven't tried to watch broadcast network TV in a long time.

With some exceptions like Breaking Bad, cable networks aren't much better (I still need to watch Mad Men, and Fargo). Years back, I happened to catch a big Southland episode. It was a hyped season premiere or finale or something. My sister was watching. I thought it was really contrived and dumb. Then it seemed like everyone online praised it. I think it was a line plugging Best Buy that caught my attention.

Even that was WAAAAAAY better than The Walking Dead. I tried to watch 2 seasons and had to stop. I've been forced to see some recent episodes with other people and it's really, really bad. Why do people feel like terrible TV is worth their time? I'd rather pay $15/month for HBO Go than watch terrible TV and still have to deal with commercials.

The first season of the Walking Dead was actually good. It went south from there, though.

I've watched all the Chicago * shows since the beginning. They are a bit corny at times (especially with everyone hooking up with each other) but the character development / storylines is what drives the shows every week. Chicago Justice seems a bit off on a tangent though - it's just another courtroom drama I feel has little entertainment value.

Everyone's tastes are obviously different. I could never see the appeal in watching Breaking Bad or Walking Dead. Game of Thrones or any of the other dress-up shows either.

Excellent casting . . and Jason Beghe portrays the Sergeant Hank Voight character well.

"Beghe was in an automobile accident in 1999. He said, "I was intubated, and I kept pulling this tube out of my throat." This has left him with a voice described as "gravelly".

Vehicle pursuits seem a tad overdramatic . . but the rest is plausible.

The thing about the Chicago PD is that they wouldn't have to make up stuff like that, and in some cases, they'd have to tone it down for TV just to keep it believable.
