Philly is the shithole of America. I had a better time in the freaking Detroit area than I ever had in Philly.
where did you go in philly?
Fuck that.

Where the hell did he go in detroit?!? :Q

Hahaha, note I said "Detroit area"! Anyhow, hung out in Royal Oak and some other suburb on the north side and found some cool brewpubs. I really dig how Michigan does their divided highways in the cities - a shit ton better than the craptastic road system in Pennsylvania.

I live ~3.5 hours from Philly and have traveled there many times. I've driven around from down by the airport (the worse airport I have ever traveled through) to the old Italian neighborhood to get one of those Pats King of Steaks - which are really pretty crummy sandwiches. Been around the university areas and the train station. Also I've stayed closer to downtown in the historical area, which admiringly isn't too bad but isn't all that badass either - regardless that area is probably the best Philly has to offer. We've traveled to the northern suburbs - Valley Forge and King of Prussia - and besides a huge ass mall it isn't any more remarkable than any other major metropolitan area.

far from a shithole though

I find Philly to be a physically a dirty city; Philadelphia sports "fans" are the worse fans I have ever met; the city has a massive crime problem. Yup, it's a shithole.

Sorry 🙁

Conversely I have a blast in Pittsburgh every time I get out that way. I absolutely love Pittsburgh and find it to be a much, much more enjoyable city than Philly.

NYC > McMurdo, Antarctica > Chickago

eh we're not as douchey as mets and giants fans, half of them dont even know what football and baseball are. philly is still on a revival though and has lots of great places to eat and hang out. i def. wouldn't mind living in center city- its hell of alot cheaper than nyc

I've spent more time in Chicago and am more famaliar with it than NYC and I like it better for that reason alone, but I wouldn't say it's a "better" city. NYC is probably too overwelming for a lot of people and Chicago seems to be more easy going for people new to either city.

Boston is fun. I grew up in NYC and moved to Boston in my early 20s. Either one is cool.😀

Fuck that.

I see you are a Jerseyite.

That means that you have no opinion., New Jersey pretends to have an identity, but in reality, just hangs off the coattails of the surrounding areas. North Jersey? Wannabe NY. South Jersey? Wannabe Philly. Unless you live in the shithole that is Trenton, you have on identity - and thus, no place in discussing the rest of the country. Bye bye, Jerseyite.

 110% true
the immediate south jersey burbs should just be annexed to PA. they can keep camden though. there are quite a few south jersey gems such as collingswood and moorestown, and they actually have a rail line that goes into philly 24/7, something that they decidedly have an advantage over PA suburbs :Q

I was going to argue your points - and defend pihlly - but then you referred to the western suburbs as northern, despite claiming to live nearby. Obviously you know absolutely nothing about the city of Philadelphia and thusly have no place in this discussion. Bye bye, kid!

Haha, whatever. You sort of sound like a douche there; arguably just a step above a grammar Nazi. Okay so it is northwest of the city center. So sorry about that. I suppose I know absolutely nothing about the area since I had my direction off-kilter a bit there.

KOP = WNW of Philadelphia. Anyone from the area knows that 76 = west, 95 = north. Of course...you seem to live in State College. A bumblefuck little town in the middle of nowhere consisting of an overrated school and a bunch of tools that graduated long ago but can't admit it so they live in a town named after the fact that it has a college - a college that isn't even a state college!

Philly > State College
Every college in Phildelphia, including Penn, Drexel, Temple, St Joes, Philadelphia University, Art Institute of Philadelphia, University of the Sciences, etc all > Penn State
