?? - Chicago Hotel - Lakefront - ??

I usually stay at the Chicago Hilton and Towers on Mich. Ave. when the family travels up there but the dates I'm looking for appear to be unavailable (also unavailable at the Palmer House).

Anyone in the area or who travels in the area know a really nice hotel comparable to those that are on Mich. Ave? Prefer to stay in that area for all of the shopping and proximity to the Field Museum and Grant Park.

Later...

Expedia and Travelocity struck out. There was a room at the Palmer House but it's a Standard room and those puppies are cramped (not ideal with two kids) 🙂

try the omni suites ask for a "shoppers rate" or "weekend special" if they have it
another good one homewoods suites just off n. michigan - great location

Thanks.

Ended up with the Swissotel. They have a Chocolate Lover's special pkg which includes two tickets to the Chocolate exhibit at the Field Museum, a discounted room rate, discounted parking, and breakfast for everyone, too. 😀

Congress Plaza hotel is in a great spot, right between the museums and the shopping on Mich. ave....we stay there when we go to DMB concerts in Chigago..

Drake was booked.

The Congress Plaza looks like a definite candidate for my next trip up. Suites for $225 with a lakeview? Not bad.

ask for a room that overlooks the river and the lake - fantastic views!

beware, if you get a room that faces away from the lake - it faces an office building full of horny lawyers with telescopes! keep the shades closed.

swisshotel also has a big glass bowl (huge) in the lobby full of chocolates that you can sample!

great choice - you will definitely like the accomodations.

Ah, thanks.

I'm going to call and change the room view type...had a view of Grant Park (according to them).

EDIT: Done...and he said the room was even a little larger.

Thanks, "doc" 🙂
