I fvcking hate Emmis and Q101 for not letting him do what they want. They are putting this stupidly retarded show to replace the greatest morning show ever. I hope Q101 sinks and dies now.

As a 101 Club member, we wanted you to be the first to know about some changes here at Q101.

You told us you wanted more variety in the music we played and we listened. In April 2005 we started playing "Everything Alternative" and we put it all "On Shuffle." Since then, Q101's audience has grown and become more diverse - and we thank you for that. Now it is time we produce a new morning show with a broader appeal that better fits the tone of the rest of the station's programming.

We are building an unconventional new show that will debut this fall. It will be a fun, smart, entertaining show that will be different from the other morning shows on the air.

That means we have to part ways with Mancow's Morning Madhouse. It is been eight great years and we hope you'll join us for our final broadcast this Friday. Then, we'll kick off the Summer of Shuffle. Starting Monday, July 17, join Chicago alternative music expert James Van Osdol each morning for great alternative music, plus news, traffic and sports updates, perfect for your summer lifestyle.

As we put the finishing touches on the new show, we'll be sure to keep in touch - and as a 101 Club Member, you'll hear about it all first.

Whenever i went surfing in Michigan City, Whiting, lower lake MI, i always tuned in in the morning. I enjoyed his shows...
 
I listened to him when he was in the Bay Area. Best morning show ever. They kicked him out after he pulled that stunt on the Golden Gate Bridge where he held up traffic to get a shave....like President Clinton did to some some flight.

Well I doubt he will go to SIRIUS, Stern in no way wants him there due to an incident with an intern.
Maybe XM or another FM market.

He said he would never do XM or any other pay-program. He thinks radio should always be free...now I guess we'll see if he means what he says.

IIRC, a while back, Mancow sent Howard Stern a box of human feces as a prank. An intern opened the box and Stern got really pissed off. Mancow's dad had just passed away and Stern said on his show that he was going to skullfvck Cow's Dad's dead body. Further insults ensued.

yeah I heard the Stern response, I found it funny, hey if mancow sent it, then he should have expected such a comeback from Stern.
And yeah i heard O&A hate him too, so no wonder he says he won't do pay programming, none of the 2 companies will have him on.

Yup. I grew out of the Mancow show many years ago. I just stack my 6 cd changer full of mp3 CDs now b/c the radio around here is so bad.

95.1 and 97.9 are both alright. I listened to Q101 almost exclusively for Mancow. I would flip it on occasionally just to see what was going on.

As Platypus says, The Q stands for Qummercials.
 
I am suprised he was only on for 8 years. I thought it was longer than that. I used to set his show as my morning alarm in junior high but I haven't really listened to it much since then. I did used to watch mancow tv a long time ago too, but that didn't last long.
 
isnt he back in Kansas City? .. close to where he started .. in direct fight with Johnny Dare .. who i think is better than Mancow ...
 
Chicago radio has been going down the tubes for a while. As a lifelong Chicagoan, up until 2 years ago. I grew up with John Landecker on WLS-AM, spent my high school years listening to Steve Dahl on WDAI(? IIRC), and moved on to Brandmeier's first incarnation on the Loop.

I've always thought Mancow was a tool. Dahl, when he first went over to WCKG was better than that. Morning radio in Chicago's been pretty bad for a while. Stern on CKG was always better than Mancow.

I was just back in Chicago about a month ago. Very suprised to hear that Brandmier was back on the Loop. Thought he was washed up in Chicago. After listening to his show for a few days; he should be.
 
The only Chicago station I care for is 97.1 (also 96.9 further north). 97.9 is ok and 95.1 is ok. I don't listen to Mancow that much anymore, but when I couldn't find any good music to listen to on the radio and was sick of my CD's I'd put him on for a while during the drive to work.
 
I personally couldn't stand Mancow's show, way too juvenile to keep my attention. If he'd stop with the 13 y/o sense of humor and just talk about news/events he can be as entertaining as any other good morning show.
