"chic" vs. "chick"

Well after the "sale" vs. "sell" thread I started to read a post and ran into this word usage conundrum too.

I have always pronounced "chic" as "sheek" and used it to describe something fashionable. "Chick" I would use to describe a female. Now I see a ton of people that use "chic" to describe a female. My dictionary here does not give this alternate definition of "chic". Does anyone have a dictionary were "chic"="chick"?

It always urks me to hear people say "chic jeans" were "chic" is pronounced like "chick". It's "sheek"! 🙂

I've done it same as you... Chic=sheek and chick= well, chick.
