Buy it cheap and replace it in a year or two when it breaks. They are not meant to last for more than a couple of years and dorms can be pretty tough on electronics(people coming in to use your things, parties, etc)

I say buy the cheap tv now and when you graduate buy a plasma.

It's even weird that there're still Daewoo products being sold.(Daewoo went bankrupt about 7 years ago)
The quality of Daewoo shouldn't be that bad as they used to compete with Samsung and Hyundai. But, I don't think that Daewoo TV is really the Daewoo TV I know of.

oh really? so they went bankrupt 7 years ago...?

some other companies just keep on spending money advertising their products for them... yeah right!

and some ppl keep running their website for them too..?? <http://www.daewoous.com/>

I have a Daewoo TV that we won in a raffle a few years ago.

It actauuly has a Toshiba tube in it, so needless to say, the picture is outstanding. How do I know it has a Toshiba tube you ask?
The screen started going allpink so I had to open the case up and found a cold solder joint. So we have learned 2 things today:
1) Parts used were top rate
2) assembly of said parts was crap
