I do it in situations where smoking isnt advised. For example, if I'm doin som oxy acetlyne cutting around a fuel tank, its much safer to chew then smoke.

Seriously though, I do it when I'm stuck at work on some big azz conference call and cant step out to smoke. I chew, but not regularly. And DONT do it around women...ie...parties, clubs or bars. NO NO NO!!

I just wait it out if I can't get a smoke.
Never really have to though.

I don't think I could chew tobacco.
I'd reather get Nicotine gum or an inhaler if I was that desparate.

I chewed stuff like redman for a couple years and dipped skoal/copenhagen for about a half dozen years. It was the hardest thing ever to give up. I've been free of it for over ten years but that is an addiction that is worse than smoking.

Just don't do it is my advice, and quit while it's still easy to quit.

Same thing for cigarettes, quit while you can... my old man still sneaks smokes although he is only fooling my old mother and himself. He supposedly quit smoking 8 years ago after his neck cancer surgery. If that doesn't prove addiction nothing will.

There is no upside to nicotine addiction.

You've never been on a conference call with your supervisor, manager and director, and the equivalant from 3 other departments and have pages going out the the VP of the company because some backbone switch is down affecting God knows what of critical customer circuits all across the country. Wait it out aint an option in that scenario!!

I actually hadn't done it since 8th grade and I recently started again during spring break(senior in college now). The buzz is awesome..

Actually, I bought my first can in like 6 years 2 weeks ago and I've done it a few times but only while I'm drunk....

I'd have never finished school without nicotine or caffeine. I gave up the former, but I think they'll bury me with a can of Mountain Dew in my hand.

Crazyfool... did you acquire any health issues after 'chewing' for over half a dozen years?

I've tried it before, and maybe chewed the equivalent of a whole can over a couple of months. I did it during the winter when it was too cold to go out to smoke. It really is a disgusting habit, but the buzz you get is pretty impressive. It was really easy to make yourself sick and get dehydrated from all the salt. I've heard that breaking the salt addiction is pretty tough on top of the nicotine addiction. I never got hooked, which is good.

Anyone ever try snuff? I'm not talking about chew... I'm talking about actual powdered tobacco that you snort up your nose.

Yeah, it's awful. You get a buzz for like 2 minutes and then you sneeze out little tobacco flakes for a week.
