Chevy says takes its style from a mixture of the 1949 Chevy Suburban
That's what I thought it looked like, too. Of course everyone will say it looks like the PT, since it, too, is styled after cars from the same era.

yuck. I liked the "old school" aspect of the PT, but this thing looks like crap. I hope the stripped tape doesn't make the production model.

They managed to make a car uglier than the PT Cruiser.

I am truly impressed.

I was thinking the horribly disfigured bastard love child of a Duragon, Armada, and Pt cruiser threesome.

Yea a LS2 push rod motor that puts out 400HP and can get 30MPG on the highway, what a peice of junk

At least this one, unlike the PT, has a little bit of power. 220HP from a 4cyl.

Because the PT Cruiser Turbo has a weak 215 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 245 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm, right?

Well, to be fair, that's the same horsepower put out by the turbo in the GT and Series 3 PT Cruisers.

Edit: Wow. I really don't like the looks of that thing. The longer I look at it, the longer it seems to get. At least the PT Cruiser has some sort of unique "style". This thing... it's just... it looks like a long mini-ute.

Why are they going back to these old ass styles? They look like middle to old age people' cars. I'm so glad they've cut back on those station wagons but these cruisers or cruiser likes are disgusting.

Your comparing the OPTION motor of the PT to the standard motor of the Chevy.

How about default to default. Chevy 220 to PT's 150

And the Turbo motor only puts out 180 in the PT. You have to get the '04 PT Cruiser GT and Dream Cruiser Series 3, and '05 PT Cruiser Convertible GT to break the 200HP barrier.

Power will come from a double-overhead cam four-cylinder engine rated at up to 220 horsepower.

I second that motion... the PT cruiser is an ugly POS... sorry to anyone that has it... some people like the retro style... but seriously just stand back and take a look at it... then decide if you want to be seen in that thing...

Actually, the article says that the Chevy engine does "up to 220 HP".

I did find this post which states:

The Heritage High Roof (HHR) is going to use the Ecotec family of four-cylinder engines. Most likely it will feature the 2200 and 2400 Ecotecs, both of which are used in the Cobalt. Expect the HHR to have horsepower ratings from about 150-180. There is also a possibility of a Supercharged Ecotec further into production.

The powertrain seems pretty comparable to the PT's.

That also seems to be corroborated by Edmunds.

Well, here's news: The "baby boomers" are becoming middle-to-old aged people, and there are a lot of them.

That said, sales on the PT are falling off. What makes Chevy think that people will flock to "more of the same" again?

Exactly what I was thinking...more than a little late to the game.
