Let me interject.

I am not an SUV type person at all. I like sporty nimble cars. I have always been in the anti-SUV crowd here in ATOT.

(Un)Fortunately, my kids are migrating to full size child seats from baby seats. This is really causing alot of misery for my the people who ride in my car (usually mom-in-law and wife ;) ).

I wanted to go the minivan route but not counting the Chrysler Town and Country, I haven't seen anything that approaches the comfort and luxury of the MDX. Sure it costs a little more ($35K to low $30Ks for minivans) but nothing comes close to it be it Odyssey, Sienna, MPV, etc. Every minivan seems really tacky. I can also justify paying a little more for SUVs because they come with 4 wheel drive which none of the minivans I looked at even offer as an option. I can practically guarantee I'll never go off-roading but having 4WD is still reassuring when living in the Northeast.

That is my justification. I'd rather get a nice sport wagon like an S6 but in reality, they are no bigger than a regular sedan.
