Chevy Step Van

I am looking at buying a '69 Chevy Step Van but I can't find information on it anywhere. Does anyone know where to get info on it? I would also like to change the rear end so that it idles around 70mph in third rather than topping out at 55mph. What do I need to accomplish that? Thanks for any help.

to get more advice you should state more info..series of said van, current installed engine and transmission(your intended use of this old machine has a great deal bearing on your combination of parts), etc. Personally I'd hunt for a more modern drivetrain like out of 90s' G30(if that's the size series of your stepvan) with its attending ecm/sensors/etc. ..shorter gears refers to the stepvan which probably is running a rearend with a 4:11 or higher ratio set coupled to a 3 speed automatic(or worse 3 sp manual) turbohydramatic350 or 400..gl 🙂
