What's the differrence between the chevy 1500 and the Chevy 1500 HD???
I'm guessing the HD(heavy duty) has more towing capacity, but I am not sure.

HD + Heavy Duty.
Heavier suspension, greater towing capacity, better cooling system (Engine and Tranny).

6 liter engine with a 4L80 Transmission (By far one of the best out there, my 4L60 has but up with 570lbs of torque and it's not even showing sighns of ANY wear [No metal on the pan magnet])

The suspension is a Z85

It's towing capacity is rated 10,200 Highest 1/2 ton rating ever

It's available in a Crew cab where the regular 1500 is only the rear swing doors

OH MY ROD!
OK, HD's are some serious muscle. So, it's kind of like a hi-brid of a 1500 and a 3500, yet not a 2500.

In addition to what laust say

Also comes std. with a limited slip rear diff
NO dual-level air-bag system like the 1500

Has same grill now unlike the past HD's. Same frame, body and differentials as the 1500.

So, your new job is to convince me to trade in my '96 GMC 1500 extended cab, regular bed, 2 WD, 80,000 mile having , v6 4.3 ltr truck in for one of these.

I figure I can get about $6500 in a trade in. I hate teh $325 ball park payments i'll be making for the next 5 years though.
