Do you need to have an active internet connection to participate? All my machines are kinda in tatters except my main one and my parents/sisters, but I'm willing to throw my athlon together and install an OS to run chessbrain and leave it at home running it(going to university), but we have dialup, and I can't leave it connected all the time, can anyone give me a decent rundown of how the whole system works, etc.? Like how long it will take between network action if it isn't required to always have an active internet connection? Thanks
 
I ran it on dial up. You probably wont get as much work as other people do not being online all the time, but you can do it.
 
Let me refrase it,

Requires always on internet access, when chessbrain is doing some work.. 😛
